Juanita was amazing!! She welcomed us into her home. She gave us appetizers and drink and we got to make focaccia and orecchiette. She is very patient. She played Italian music in the background. It was a wonderful evening.
My mom, son, and I wanted to do something memorable in Bari. We wanted to have a unique Italian experience in one of the food capitals of the world. We had such a wonderful time with Juanita at our cooking class. She has a beautiful apartment, easy to find in the city. We made delicious focaccia and pasta. We will always remember this! And we hope to cook everything for our friends when we get home! Soooooo delicious!
What an incredible experience! Anita had us in her home and was so welcoming. She was enthusiastic and very kind. Everything we could have hoped for. Quickly becoming the highlight of our trip. Must do.
Juanita made the class fun and very inclusive. The focaccia we made was the best I have tasted and the orecchiette, delicious. I will definitely try making them at home.
This was an INCREDIBLE experience. Juanita taught how to make focaccia and orechiette. She provided lots of feedback - she actually teaches and isn't just putting on a show. She also served wine and cooked a multi-course dinner. I left stuffed and ridiculously happy. By far the BEST experience I have had on my Italy trip. She does provide the recipes and the link to her food blog. Strongly recommend and would consider doing again.
This cooking class was really amazing! We had it private, just me and my partner. Juanita explained everything in very detail about making the pasta and foccacia dough. We learned a lot about the best techniques. And I really loved that she was hosting the class at her home, it felt really personal and cozy. As well she is very warm and welcoming person herself. We would definitely join any class again.
Had a top-notch experience with Juanita! She is an animated speaker keeping everyone engaged throughout the class. Her light-hearted teasing made it fun. There were 8 people in our class - the session lasted 3 hours. 1st we learned how to make focaccia. Next we sat down for wine and LOTS of appetizers. (Honestly, I was full after that!) Lastly, she taught us how to make orechiette which was the highlight of the class. We sat back down to eat the focaccia and orechiette. The evening was capped off with homemade limoncello! Strongly recommend this class!
This was the highlight of our trip so far! Anita’s hospitality was top-notch and the food was out of this world. The directions to find the place were spot on and there is a parking garage right around the corner if you do end up driving like we did. Just check on Google Maps. My husband and I both thoroughly enjoyed this experience and it wasn’t until afterwards that my husband shared with me he had been leery when I first booked it but was very glad we did it. Anita made us feel right at home and she was extremely patient with us while we attempted to create the little pieces of pasta. The spread she put out for us to eat was extensive and way more than we could finish. The focaccia was so delicious and the best I have ever eaten. Anita kept up the conversation while we worked by telling us stories of the region and sharing her own experience and that of her grandmother from whom she learned how to make pasta from. If you are on the fence about whether to do this or not, then let this be the push that gets you to do it. You will not be disappointed!
Amazing experience with Anita! She welcomed us like family and shared all her secrets and tips on how to make the best focaccia and pasta. Our family of 6 adults and one infant had a wonderful time learning and eating the classic food of Puglia! Best money spent!
What a wonderful experience! We left Bari with a great recipe for both orecchiette and focaccia and even better an amazing time in Juanita’s home with the other two class attendees. Juanita was the best hostess, both in teaching us and in feeding us! Grazie mille Juanita - Multo buono!! Highly recommend - you will not be disappointed!
