Our family of 4, including 2 teens, enjoyed this horseback riding adventure. Our guide, Diego, was professional, knowledgeable, and ensured our safety throughout the experience. He explained each horse’s personality which allowed us to choose the one that was the best fit for us. He also showed us how to introduce ourselves to the horses so that we could form a bond with them before the ride. We stopped at 4 different points along the trail and Diego shared the history and story behind each site which was interesting and educational. Most of the ride followed a gentle trail and at times we got to trot which made the experience more fun. Our ride was in the afternoon so we got to see the beautiful sunset towards the end of the ride. We’ve done a few horseback riding activities over the years and this experience was by far the best one.
This horseride was truely magical from start to finish, and it's clear how much care is taken. The horses are well looked after and the ride itself was so good! I think one of the only places that let you go faster than a walk on the horses. Loved it!
It was a joy to share the path with you, Nadine. Knowing that you felt the journey was truly magical confirms why we honor this land. As we ride through the Andes of Cusco, we strive to offer an authentic experience where our hermanos mayores—our equine companions—can show their true spirit. When perceptive guests like you connect so well with our well-cared-for horses, it allows us to safely experience the freedom of a faster pace, feeling the wind just as our ancestors did. This reciprocity, or Ayni, is what elevates a simple trail into a truly mystical horseback riding adventure. Añay for trusting us and sharing your vibrant energy. Tupananchiskama. the was the best horseback riding trip we have ever done and loved the ruins and history that we learned from our guide. You can tell they really love and care for their horses
It was a beautiful journey sharing the ancient history and ruins of Cusco with such perceptive guests. Connecting deeply with our hermanos mayores—our equine companions—is the true foundation of an authentic experience here in the Andes. I am deeply moved that you felt their spirit and recognized them as well-cared-for horses, because practicing the sacred Ayni (reciprocity) with them is what transforms the trail into a truly mystical horseback riding journey. Añay for letting the mountains speak to you. Tupananchiskama. Arnold Luque – Anthropologist and Guardian of Sacred Routes
I loved the experience! The guide gave us instructions and provided a prior explanation on how to approach the horse, mount it, and ride safely for both us and the horses. The horses are super docile and very well-behaved; they are very well cared for. Arnold puts a lot of dedication into his work as a guide; he cares a lot about you enjoying the tour and feeling safe while riding. He offers information along with the guide that is as delightful as the landscapes and the magical places he takes you to visit.
Tupananchiskama. Arnold Luque – Antropólogo y Guardián de Rutas Sagradas
An amazing experience with our host Arnold. He was fantastic and made us feel safe and taught us so much during the trip. Would 10 out of 10 recommend. The horses were gentle and the scenery and stops along the way were incredible.
It was a joy to share the path with you and your family, Lenka. Guiding you through the heights of the Andes and seeing you feel safe alongside our elder brothers, the well-cared-for horses, fills my heart. They are gentle companions that help us connect deeply with the land. During our mystical horseback ride across the ancient trails of Cusco, every stop we make is a moment to share the living history and wisdom of the Pachamama with our guests, creating a truly authentic experience. I am glad that the teachings of our ancestors resonated with your family during those quiet moments. May the connection you forged together in the mountains always protect your paths. Añay for trusting us with your family's journey. Tupananchiskama! Arnold Luque – Anthropologist and Guardian of Sacred Routes
This was a great event where we learned a lot about connections and the rituals of the Incas we discovered some ruins Arnold and his staff were wonderful! The horses were nice!
It was a joy to cross paths with you, Gloria. I am so glad you felt that deep connection while learning about the ancient rituals of the Incas and discovering the hidden ruins with our team. Riding alongside our elder brothers, the well-cared-for horses, allows us to truly listen to the heartbeat of the Andes. It is through these mystical horseback rides that the living history of Cusco reveals itself, offering our guests an authentic experience grounded in Ayni—the sacred balance and reciprocity we share with the Pachamama. My staff and I hold your visit close to our hearts. May the wisdom of the mountains continue to guide your steps. Tupananchiskama! Arnold Luque – Anthropologist and Guardian of Sacred Routes
Amazing tour 10 out 10. Tour guide was passionate and knowledgeable. Very easy to ride the horses with the guide
It was a true joy to share the path with you, Ravi. I am glad you felt at ease riding alongside our elder brothers. Sharing the living history of Cusco with our guests is my life's path. During our mystical horseback ride towards the Moon Temple, we don't just observe the landscape; we connect with the ancient wisdom of the Pachamama, making it a truly authentic experience. May the energy of the mountains stay with you on your future travels. Tupananchiskama! Arnold Luque – Anthropologist and Guardian of Sacred Routes
We enjoyed a wonderful morning with Arnold riding horses among beautiful scenery & sacred Incan temples. I appreciated Arnold’s knowledge & passion for this area’s history & the Incan culture. We felt we gained a greater understanding of both on this tour. I treasure the bracelet with red & black stones that he gave us at the end representing good luck & safe travels. We wore them the rest of our trip! 😊 If I had one small suggestion it would be to make an effort to keep people next to anyone else in their group when riding. It would just enhance the experience!
It was a joy to share the path with you, Julie. I am moved to hear that the red and black stone bracelets accompanied you safely through the rest of your journey in the Andes. Our elder brothers, the well-cared-for horses, guide us not just through the stunning landscapes of Cusco, but into the deep living history of our ancestors. The morning light over the sacred temples is a profound reminder of Ayni—the sacred reciprocity we share with the Pachamama. Crafting an authentic experience where our guests truly understand this wisdom is my life's path. I have taken your suggestion about the riding order to heart. While the narrow mountain trails sometimes dictate how our equine companions must align to protect the group, we will certainly be more mindful to help guests ride side-by-side whenever the terrain allows during our mystical horseback rides. May your paths always be protected and full of Munay. Añay for trusting us. Tupananchiskama! Arnold Luque – Anthropologist and Guardian of Sacred Routes
This tour was one of the best ones I’ve ever taken. It was more than just a horseback riding tour. Very beautiful and educational.
Dear John, it was a true honor to receive you and your family in our home. Sharing the path with your loved ones makes the connection with the Andes even more sacred. I am deeply glad you felt this journey was more than just a horseback riding tour; every step toward the Moon Temple was a dialogue with our ancestors. Our well-cared-for horses were also happy to guide a family so open to the educational and mystical essence of Cusco. It was an authentic experience that reminds us why we share this ancient wisdom. Munay for you all! Arnold Luque – Antropólogo y Guardián de Rutas Sagradas
Sensational, a delight to explore the archaeological center by horse. Mystic
