Visitez le lever du soleil à l'extérieur d'Angkor Wat avec l'entrée du grand temple dans l'obscurité du côté ouest et imprégnez-vous de l'atmosphère de l'aube à Angkor, au bord de l'une des anciennes piscines de la bibliothèque. Passez votre journée à visiter les temples avec votre guide local pour profiter au maximum de votre visite dans le célèbre complexe d'Angkor, construit entre le IXe et le XIIIe siècle, lorsque l'empire khmer était l'influence prédominante de l'Asie du Sud-Est.

Nous commençons par un départ avant l'aube (de 4h30 à 4h45, en fonction de la période de l'année) de votre hôtel pour le lever du soleil à l'extérieur d'Angkor Vat. Entrez dans le grand temple dans l'obscurité depuis l'est peu visité, et empruntez des corridors effrayants et bouclés au-delà de la plus longue étendue de sculptures en bas-relief du monde.
La porte sud d'Angkor Thom est la mieux conservée. Il est abordé de l’extérieur par un pont-jetée d’une cinquantaine de mètres de largeur. De chaque côté du pont-jetée se trouvent des balustrades formées de 54 personnages en pierre participant au spectacle d'une célèbre histoire hindoue: le mythe du barattage de l'océan. Sur le côté gauche du fossé, 54 «devas» (dieux gardiens) tirent la tête du serpent «Shesha», tandis que du côté droit 54 «asuras» (dieux démons) tirent la queue du serpent dans la direction opposée. Dans ce mythe, le corps du serpent est enroulé autour de la montagne centrale, le mont. Meru — correspondant peut-être ici au temple Bayon au centre du site. Dans tous les cas, le mythe raconte que lorsque les Devas ont tiré le serpent dans une direction et que les dieux ont poussé dans l’autre, l’océan a commencé à se brouiller et à précipiter les éléments. En alternant, l'océan se "trais", formant à nouveau la Terre et le cosmos.
Angkor Thom est le site majestueux ayant autrefois servi de capitale scintillante de l'empire khmer. Prenez un moment pour réfléchir à sa grandeur avant de vous aventurer dans la ville. En arrivant au temple de Bayon, appréciez ses tours centrales magnifiquement conçues, couvertes de plus de 200 visages énormes.
La terrasse des éléphants, longue de 350 m, servait de tribune géante pour les cérémonies publiques et servait de base à la grande salle du roi. Il comporte cinq sorties qui s'étendent vers la place centrale: trois au centre et une à chaque extrémité. La partie centrale du mur de soutènement est décorée de garuda et de lions de taille réelle; à chaque extrémité se trouvent les deux parties du célèbre défilé d'éléphants avec leurs mahouts Khmers.
L'un des temples les plus atmosphériques d'Angkor. Ta Prohm, qui abritait autrefois 2 740 moines, a aujourd’hui une apparence semblable à celle du début des années 1850, lorsque l’explorateur français Henri Mouhot a redécouvert ce site en ruine. Après avoir exploré l'intérieur du labyrinthe de Ta Prohm, retournez à votre hôtel après une journée longue mais enrichissante, qui vous laissera toute une vie de souvenirs de l'une des merveilles du monde.

We had a guided tour by Sam and his driver Da! It was just amazing, he showed us the best spots instead of all the tourist spots! It was impressive how much knowlegde Sam had on both the temples as well as the Khmer history. I would recommend him for sure! A 10/10 experience. And he was a great cameraman as well!!

This tour was awwsome! Watching the sunrise at Angkor Wat was absolutely breathtaking, but what really made the day unforgettable was our amazing guide, Sam, and our driver, Mr. Ha. Sam was incredibly knowledgeable and passionate. As we walked through the temples, he shared fascinating stories and historical details that brought each place to life. He also planned the route perfectly, making sure we avoided unnecessary walking in the heat while still seeing all the highlights. We learned so much and enjoyed every moment. Mr. Ha was equally fantastic. He was always there waiting for us at each temple exit with cold water and refreshing towels, which made such a difference during the day. It is a must do experience!

Sam was a great tour guide who took us to a great spot to watch the sunset overlooking Angkor Wat. Seeing the different temples of Angkor Wat, Bayon Temple, and Ta Prohm was amazing. Sam had a lot of details to share and made it interesting with his story telling. He even added some details about the culture of Cambodia which was nice to learn. He's also great taking photos and knows all the good spots. I highlight recommend this tour! To top it off, our driver Ha was amazing and so attentive. Every time we got on the bus he had a cold towel and water ready for us.
