Castello fut l'une des premières parties de Venise à s'installer (du Ve au VIe siècle). Le quartier tire son nom du château qui s'y dressait et qui assurait la défense contre les attaques de la mer. Voici l'ancien Arsenal, qui était une partie essentielle de la vie de la repubblica. Cathédrale de San Pietro di Castello Pendant de nombreux siècles, la cathédrale était sous l'autorité du patriarche de Grado. En 1451, Venise a obtenu son propre patriarche. par conséquent, l'église est devenue cathédrale. À la suite des dignités qui ont été supprimées par Napoléon en 1807, San Marco (Saint-Marc) est devenue la nouvelle cathédrale et au lieu d'être simplement une chapelle des Doges, elle est devenue le siège du patriarche Antico Arsenale (ancien arsenal) Il peut être reconnu par ses murs en terre cuite et ses tours carrées. The BEST tour experience you can get in Venice!! This is my second time with Nadia, she is the sweetest and gives you such a local experience. We did an hour walking tour and a hour boat ride, it was perfect! She shows you the side of Venice that you would not see by yourself, you get to get lost in the experience of the city! This tour was the cherry on top of our trip, I could not recommend her more!!

Nadia , came with a wonderful taxi boat pick me up at the train stations from the beginning she makes me at ease and explain how Venice was built and why on the water ! She is from Venice very knowledgeable the most for me was that she takes you out of the beaten path , that you can really enjoy what Venice is all about and can hear all the history she explain so well !!!
