Amalfi : Tour de citron bio + limoncello + miel + dégustations de vin

Description

Lemon tour was a surprise great history of Lemon industry. Guide was outstanding and walk through 100+ family business, how to manage lemon grove, no pesticides, harvesting, etc. Lunch was great, put together by family for our group. This tour is a moderate hike.
The word authentic is overused. What is often described as authentic is, in fact, a reproduction, a stage set to appear real. Other experiences may offer tasty food and Instagram worthy pictures, but if you want to visit a real, working farm owned by people who love their trees and the land they care for, this is the tour for you. Joanna, a fourth generation lemon farmer, gives the tour of this farm that has documentation going back to the year 1080. She is passionate about organic farming, and explains the benefits beyond how we as humans benefit to the way the trees thrive with the organic methods as well. She would stop and explain how a particular tree was ill and how they restored it to health. It is very evident that this is a labor of love. They grow several types of citrus, and not only were we given limoncello, but also mandarincello, something we had never even heard of before, and it was delicious. The dinner we were served was excellent and worthy of a 5 star restaurant. Every course was presented with a shy and gentle pride, and it was explained where the ingredients came from (all quite local) if they were not from their very own garden. The food is cooked by the mama and sister, and we were able to meet them afterward. Such a delightful family. Sitting under the lemon trees, overlooking the sea, high in the hills in Amalfi, away from the crowds, eating local food prepared by this sweet little family was quite a moving experience. Joanna explained that she also employs local workers during the busy season, so spending the money on this tour and dinner is money spent, not simply as a vacation indulgence, but as a way to support the people and farms that make the Amalfi Coast a genuinely authentic and historical place. Please visit … you will not be disappointed.
A beautiful organic farm! It was an experience we won't forget! Owned by a family who is very passionate about their work, the quality of their product and sustainability! I highly recommend this tour and the food tasting!
