I 100% would not recommend if you are on a tight schedule or fly in the day of the activity. The vendor is not flexible or accommodating to issues that arise that are out of the customers hands. My flight was canceled and rebooked for a flight later in the day, which caused me to miss my scheduled tour time. I was hoping to be accommodated and switch to a tour on the next day, but the vendor is extremely firm about the cancelation policy with no flexibility or exceptions allowed. So all and alll I am out of $200 for a situation that was out of my control. This is a bad business practice in my opinion.
Great historical site. Good history lesson and audio tour. Good guides and personnel. Fast travel between the island and San Francisco.
The ease of Purchasing the tickets was great. The communication after the tickets were purchased was excellent. The instructions on the emails were clear and precise. The only unfortunate event was that many of the areas on alcatraz were closed.
Boat was dingy and dirty but had a nice view and safety instructions were unclear and I didn't like that
I missed the boat due to upset stomach on the way to the pier. My grandson went without me and he enjoyed it.
I was very disappointed as I e-mailed 3 times on different days to bring out trip forward as it stated on the confirmation e-mail "if we want to change out trip contact the operator which I clicked on but had no reply.
Totally enjoyed our experience. The audio tour gave great insight on life at Alcatraz.
Overall what you could see was very good however, a lot of it is currently closed (such as the hospital) which would make it a lot better. Have to say I was disappointed but renovation works are necessary.
We were very happy with these tickets! Everything was easy and well organized. The ferry ride to and from Alcatraz Island was quick, smooth, and simple. We really enjoyed visiting the island, and catching the return ferry was just as easy. Overall, it was a great experience, and we would definitely recommend these tickets to anyone planning a visit to Alcatraz.
So the Alcatraz experience was awesome, and the family enjoyed it. Unfortunately, the tickets were sold out when we tried to book the experience through the City Cruises /Alcatraz Island Tickets website. This was something we did not want to miss during our trip so we booked it through Tripadvisor/Viator. We ended up overpaying and paid double the price out of desperation. I will absolutely recommend the tour but would try the two previously mentioned websites and if they’re sold out, try Groupon or save some money and just buy it at the pier.
