We visited on a cruise and this activity had the perfect amount of time at the 2 locations. One hour at waterfall, 2 at Forest Lagoon. We loved it. Only admission at Forest Lagoon, not towel or drink. We brought towels from the ship n they have a swim up bar fr drinks. They record them on yr wrist bracelet n u pay when u leave,
Nice ride to a beautiful waterfall. The forest lagoon was lovely. I didn't realize we take a shuttle back after the lagoon, but it went smoothly. The shuttles fill up though so don't wait for the last one!
Well worth while. Water fall and other stops were good We enjoyed. Friendly guide informative. Interesting that over 12000 water falls
Our guide, Nils was terrific! Great story teller who shared history and personal stories too! The Forest Lagoon was excellent and a terrific way to end our day.
If you have no trouble walking the trip is worth it. For people walking with a cane or who have walking issues it is very difficult. My husband had a lot of trouble. He couldn’t face the longish walk up to the hot water lagoon so I did that part in my own. The water falls and surrounding area were really beautiful and the Forest lagoon very relaxing. Be sure to have your printed reservation for the lagoon folks - the tour bus just drops you off and you check in own your own. Then there is a separate free shuttle that takes you back to the pier.
Waterfall is beautiful! Loved the Forest Lagoon. Was a little worried when I saw previous reviews complaining about mix ups at the Lagoon regarding admission but we had smooth sailing. Great experience!
Two hours are promised at the Lagoon. Not enough people for Waterfall + Lagoon tour so they combined us with the straight Waterfall tour, unbeknownst to us at first. Waterfall is supposed to be a 45 min stop, guide tells us we have 1hr10. When we queried him, and asked when we would arrive at the Lagoon, he would dance around it and change the subject. Long story short - we arrived at the Lagoon at 4pm. Dumped off the bus at the bottom of the hill. Told to go up and go in. Forest Lagoon had no idea who we were or what group we were with. After some back and forth, we sorted that out. But we were told we were late for our time and had to be gone by 5:15pm. So by the time we got in the lagoon, we had 45 mins before we had to change to leave again on their shuttle. We requested a refund for the Lagoon portion, and the tour company is lying to Viator about what happened (even though I had a timestamped entry bill that I had to sign for the non existent guide) and refusing to refund it. Viator will not step up and refund it out of their pocket either. Very disappointed, and displeased with their lack of customer service. A simple refund gesture for the botched half of the tour is the least that could be done. As a side note - you can get a free shuttle from the cruise port and go right to the lagoon - you do not need to be on a tour.
Very unorganized. Viatour did not display the name of the actual service provider. Service provider had us on a 10:00 tour, but Viatour stated it was12:30. The tour provider knew nothing about the Forest Lagoon entery processes, just dropped us off and said go to the front desk. Very bad organizational performance.
Very Good experience- trip was as advertised. Our guide shared information about the surrounding areas as we drove along. Our charter bus was easy to find and was a comfortable drive.
The experience was great. The falls are breathtaking and the lagoon was so relaxing. It was a wonderful way to end the tour ant this port. Our tour guide was so fun and informative. He was originally from Germany and came to live in Iceland 20+ years ago. We all loved his stories. Highly recommend this tour. Please be aware when you go to the Forest Lagoon your reservation may be under the tour group’s name and it does not include lunch. They do have a small cafe you can purchase food items from, such as soup and sandwiches.
