Afro Tour Les Couleurs de Cali

This was the absolute Afro Cali experience. Andres was very friendly, practical, and he was willing to learn from me as he guided the tour. He is very popular among the locals and supports the Afro businesses. His selection of street art showed and provoked many questions about the status of Afro people in Cali. He was able to explain and show how Cali has grown to become very inclusive to erase the stigma of race. The tour was scheduled for 2.5 hours but we sat at the final stop to get Nancy's Cholados for about an hour and a half. We coincidentally met and spoke with another friend an Afro (from the Pacific Region), a retired Social Studies teacher who really put the icing on the cake by going in depth with Cali Afro history. 5 STAR RATING * * * * *

I booked this trip for my family who were visiting Cali for the first time and it was a hit! Andrés was extremely kind and my family who went felt very looked after by him (especially since they were older). He was incredibly knowledgeable and truly transformed how you look at murals. He is very personable as well and communicative before the tour so we knew where to go which was really helpful. I would absolutely recommend this for others!

Experienced the Afro tour with Andres. First, I have been to many countries and partook in many cultural tours. But it's rare to have a guide who truly shows passion for their work. Andres knows the history, cuture and the feel of Cali. His knowledge on the artists and what they mean to Cali and the struggle of the Afro and indigenous people. This is A MUST do when visiting Cali!! Unfortunately I can only give 5 stars but this definitely deserves 10, for Andres alone!

Andres was an amazing guide! We experienced the Afro Tour Colors of Cali with Andres providing lots of information about the history of Cali along with providing insight into the culture. I highly recommend Date Un Borondo for authentic tours of Cali.

Booking this tour for my first morning in Cali was the smartest thing I could've done. Andres is a fantastic ambassador and rep for the vibrancy, history, and spirit of Cali. I felt immediately comfortable in his presence, as he engaged our small group with warmth and humor, and strove to keep the engagement interactive, so we were always in conversation. We were able to learn so much about Cali's history and culture, particularly through an AfroColombian lens as told through murals/street art and food samples (chotoduro is like sweet potatoes, y'all). Again, I don't think I could have had a better guide and intro to this wonderful city. Check him out!
