The experience was miserable. There was no prior communication from the trip provider so we were were unaware the pickup was at 4:30 not 4 am as previously stated. There was an unfortunate accident with the tour bus- not there fault. I was hit in the head with a stone and my husband had glass on him. Passengers were covered in glass. Not at anytime were we asked if we were okay. The passengers were left to help each other out. Luckily no one was terribly hurt by the flying glass when the side window was broken. We paid for a tour that was in English- the tour guide did not speak English and neither did the driver. We were left on the entire tour not understanding any of what we were seeing. The tour’s response was to show us a phone to read what we were seeing. I could have stayed in my air conditioned hotel room and looked at pictures and read. Luckily there were some passengers who spoke some English and told us when there was a bathroom stop and what was generally going on. The bus was hot and crowded. The drive back was 4 hours with NO restroom stop. It was easily the worse tour experience of all in our traveling. A complete waste of our money and most of all a vacation day. Beyond disappointing.
I booked this tour and specified the need for an English guide. I was contacted prior to the tour regarding the place to meet and the time. I arrived and was shown to the bus. After we began I noticed that no English was spoken. At my first opportunity I asked the guide if they would be providing any English guidance and was told that the English guide was ill. Later this was changed to the excuse that they did not know English was requested. As this is a 12 to 16 hour tour and we were well on our way to Baranquilla, I went through the entire tour not understanding what was being said. I don't understand why tours are being advertised as having an English guide then none is provided. I suggest if you take this tour you get an assurance before you get on the bus that your language is being provided.
This tour had good references, unfortunately the day we had the trip was very different than what we expected, timing, places were visited in a hurry if visited,,,, Doesn’t make sense long trip without enjoying the Santa Marta Beach.
It's a long day, but that is advertised. Santa Marta was the highlight. Lunch was great and very large.
An unforgettable experience; the agency was very professional, very kind, very punctual, the places we visited were beautiful, and lastly, the lunch was delicious, everything was 10/10, highly recommended.
It was ok, you have a few quick stops to take pictures then a 40 min walk through Santa Marta's downtown (El Centro) and then they take you to a hotel nearby a beach were you have lunch and 2 hours of free time. We went to the beach and immediately walked back to the hotel to stay at the pool. Our tour guide was funny and informative, he was definitely the best part of the tour! That drive back to Cartagena felt like an eternity but the A/C was cold and we were tired so we ended up napping through a good portion of it. Will we do it again? Probably not, but I would recommend it if you want to visit more cities in Colombia during your stay in Cartagena. On a side note: they picked us up and drop us off right at our hotel which was super convenient. BUT, we were told to be ready by 4:20am and they arrived at 5:10am. They did apologize for the delay and explained that they had to replace one of the tires of the bus but based on previous reviews I am wondering if this really what happened.
Everything was very nice , the places the people but in the hotel they took us for lunch they stole my water bottle from Stanley this was very bad experience
The first thing I'm gonna say is that they did everything detailed. It is a very long but very good excursion. The driver was excellent!! The coordinator, explanatory and correct. The guide who accompanied us in Santa Marta is from another planet!!: attentive, very friendly, educated and fun. It is an excursion that can be tiring, but it is worth it! Breakfast is good. Lunch is rich and complete. If you are reading this review because you have doubts about going or not, do not go around, go and enjoy... it is worth it!
Full day tour starting 4:20 am till 8 pm from Cartagena! Loved all the spots. English guide would have been better but Spanish guide was good too!
If you have 16 hours to lose in your life, this activity is for you. On the agenda: 3 statues, a cathedral and a truly mediocre beach. The main problem remains the time spent in the coach: about 70% of the day in a deplorable and uncomfortable vehicle, which totally ruins the experience. The evening before, the organizer Maria informs us that there will be no English-speaking guide, only in Spanish, although the tour was booked in English. After several complaints messages, a guide is finally assigned to us. Regarding Santa Marta, the city is nice but we had almost no free time: less than 50 minutes on site, barely time to see the cathedral. The guide assured us that we would have time to shop, but that never happened. No free time, no opportunity to enjoy the city. The meal was very average, unqualitative and served in insufficient quantity. 👉 In summary: poor organization, too much transport, broken promises, too few visits. Clearly disappointing experience, I do not recommend! It should not be offered! 😡 The worst of my life and yet I travel very regularly
