The flight from São Paulo to Santiago/CH was quiet, but the disembarkation of the "Declaro" (declaration of entry to be made over the internet by reading the QR Code, and with a sign difficult to obtain) and the granting of the "Permission" (along with the Migration Police) made us have to remarket the flight to Puerto Montt at the Latam checkpoint, delaying a few hours. We stayed in the city's IBIS and next to the bus terminal, but in a room on the top floor, quiet and with heater that works and optimal cleanliness conditions. Breakfast with fruits, breads, juices, black coffee, mixed eggs and black coffee. The hotel environment is beautiful, with large walking spaces right next to the Pacific Ocean, with a constant wind and very flat and well-maintained. Relatively close to shopping and exchange houses. On the tours, the van driver picked us up with a lot of punctuality and we went to the penguins to see the penguins and other seabirds, in a beautiful landscape and viewers to explore beautiful panoramas. In Parque Vicente N. Rosales, we went on two walks, one of them through the river Petrohue, with two waterfalls and clear blue and clear waters, to the lake of All Saints (also called Lake Esmeralda, for the transparent green color of its waters and to the volcano Osorno, with its aternal snow (despite its active volcanic status). On the other tour, we went to the park but in the places and cities around Lake Lhanquihue (Puerto Varas, Frutillar, and others) and among other attractions we visited a waterfall of more than forty meters high, with walks on short and medium trails and beautiful landscapes of the Chilean Patagonia. In all the tours the lunch was included and the food of Germanic origin very good, accompanied by local wine or calfate beer, amber but less bitter than usual. In the very city of Puerto Montt and relatively close to the hotel IBIS there are a shopping with many shops, exchange and large food square and at the opposite end of the hotel, there is the famous market of Angelmó, with many products manufactured from sheep wool, and alpaca with good prices, in addition to a market of fresh fish that provides the restaurants there located not only the salmon, the merluza austral and the centolha (crab endemic in the region and large size, which proved delicious with mayonnaise, salad and cooked potatoes), such as the congrio and other fish. In addition, the "sea wolves" are attracted to the site by the remains of the fish cleaning and are allowed to photograph swimming, sunbathing or posing in the cold Pacific Ocean. After all, a wonderful trip, in which the days were radiant and with very blue, but with wind and some cold (minimum of 9 degrees, but with a thermal feeling of 4 degrees). We visited the neighboring city of Puerto Varas, highly tourist - like our Campos do Jordão or the Argentine Bariloche - with its shops and beautiful houses and hotels, but the cost of accommodation in that city would definitely be at least twice as much as Puerto Montt for an ostentation that we did not want. Finally, a very good trip and I hope that the script we conceived as very good will serve as an orientation for the readers.

My driver went above and beyond in describing the areas we drove through… history, interesting sites, etc. He then did a quick spin around the area near my hotel in Puerto Varas so I had an idea of things to easily walk to, including fantastic restaurant options! And his driving made me feel very safe!

Very pleasant city, with beautiful views and very interesting surroundings, such as Frutilla. We have passed the new year. It wasn't a party like Brazilians are used to, but everything was very orderly and safe. Maybe it's not the best date to visit, but going to Chile is an excellent option to visit. Chilean people are very friendly and pleasant.
