Itinéraire
Nous commençons à la Ramsay House et discutons des origines d'Alexandria, en Virginie. William Ramsay était un marchand écossais et un bon ami de George Washington. Il fut l'un des fondateurs d'Alexandrie. Ce premier arrêt contient l'un de nos joyaux cachés préférés. Indice : il se cache à la vue de tous !
Les voyageurs découvriront où est née la Révolution américaine. Sans blague! Vingt ans avant le début de la guerre d'indépendance, des événements étaient en cours qui conduiraient les colonies américaines à déclarer leur indépendance.
Nous nous arrêterons devant Gadsby's et parlerons de son lien avec les premiers présidents américains. Nous verrons aussi le fameux puits de glace !
L'histoire de la célèbre Spite House vous sera contée. Nous verrons la célèbre maison et veillerons à ce que les invités puissent prendre des photos !
Découvrez où George Washington est allé à l'église d'Alexandrie. Vous pouvez même vous asseoir sur son banc.
Nous passerons par l'Athenaeum en descendant Prince Street et en nous dirigeant vers Captain's Row. Il existe une abondance de sites fascinants le long du pâté de maisons 200 de Prince Street. De belles demeures qui ont des histoires remontant au 18ème siècle.
L'une des rues pavées classiques d'Alexandrie. Histoire amusante et fascinante pour inclure l'un des plus grands incendies d'Alexandrie. Nous expliquerons pourquoi il s'appelle Captain's Row. Ce sera la dernière étape de la visite et nous prendrons des photos et serons à proximité de grands restaurants !

Very interesting tour with a lot of history. Our tour guide was Jeff was so knowledgeable and showed us so many early pictures of buildings. The church had to be my favorite place. Just loved it!!

Our tour of Alexandria was charming, fun, and fascinating. Jeff was an excellent tour guide, keeping us in the shade, taking us through nearly-tangible historic events as we walked the same streets as Revolutionary patriots, the Founding Fathers, and Civil War soldiers. Old Town contains layers and layers of human experience; Jeff brought it to life with historic photos, fun trivia, terrific stories, and a stroll along the lovely streets of the city.

How lovely & knowledgeable our tour guide was❣️Being a Virginian, I thought I knew the historical facts about the area. Nevertheless, this local guide brought history to life with her accounts. Showing us visuals along the route added to our understanding of what a significant part the splendid Old Town Alexandria area played in history.
