The trolley operator put on a recorded tape instead of personally talking and explaining the different sights we passed. The trolley broke down half way through the tour and we were transferred to another trolley and this guide/operator was great. He explained things in a fun interesting manner.
Was very disappointed. Advertised as a non stop narrated tour It was neither non stop and was narrated by audio. I had thought narration was by a human and present.. Taped audio was lacking. Felt like I was on a bus with bus driver who did not say one word btw.
Great Experience for the entire family. Drivers are very knowledgeable. We enjoyed being able to get off and on at all stops of the tour.
I really enjoyed the 80-Minute Non-Stop Trolley tour of historic Boston and the Freedom Trail. Our driver and guide, Hugo, was absolutely fantastic. He is a great narrator and shared so many funny stories throughout the ride, which kept the whole experience incredibly entertaining. The tour itself was packed with information, and I loved how it allowed me to learn so much about Boston's rich history in a relaxed, informal way rather than feeling like a rigid history lesson. It is a fantastic option if you want to see the major sights and learn about the city without having to walk the entire trail. I highly recommend this tour, especially if you are lucky enough to get Hugo as your driver!
Thank you for our trolley with Hugo - great tour, great guide and great experience to kick off our holiday in Boston.
Hugo was my tour guide and he was awesome sauce, i learn quite a lot history in a short. I love the fact you get off an get back on to return to the start. Boston is packed full of history, Hugo made it fun and memorable. Remeber to Venmo your guides, it's polite. Thank you!! HUGO for sharing your knowledge of the Boston. Great route and extremely friendly crew. The driver was very kind and pleasant. You can tell his love for the city and culture.
We were so disappointed with this trip. It was our first time and day in Boston. We wanted an overview and wanted to be able to take pictures. The driver concentrated on two couples right behind him. Joked around with them and got to know them. We felt left out. He drive the bus and spoke a little then a prerecorded voice came on. He never really stopped for us to see any of the sights and take a picture. He pointed out Paul Revere's house but believe me I didn't not see it. He never said right or left, look straight ahead or anything. We were extremely frustrated. It felt more like a public transit bus. Some people could get off. We could not because we got the nonstop version. This was not the experience we expected.
Hi Ann, Thank you for bringing this to our attention and for sharing your feedback. Our tours are designed to showcase Boston's rich history with engaging narration and numerous historic points of interest. While our Non-Stop Tour provides an excellent overview of the city, it does not include access to some historic areas where trolleys and buses are not permitted. For the best overall experience, we recommend our Hop On/Off Tour, especially when paired with our complimentary GPS Self-Guided Walking Tour app. The app guides guests to nearby points of interest, provides historical information along the way, and leads you back to your trolley stop so you can explore with confidence. You can learn more about our tours by visiting cityviewtrolleys.com. Please email me directly during your next visit to Boston, and I would be happy to arrange complimentary tickets so you can enjoy the full CityView experience. Sincerely, Mike T
I was expecting a “live narrator”. We had a recorded experience with very little from our driver. He had a very thick accent which was very hard to understand.
The tour did not talk about the sights to see in Boston or the landmarks, the driver was funny but just rambled on about the history of Boston. We have taken many Victor tours which are much better.
