8-Hour Offshore Fishing Adventure - Chase the Big Game!

my wife and I chartered the 32 foot boat luna sea || out of Potrero for the second year in a tow and couldnt have anything better to say about this company captain frank and his first mate carlos went above and beyond to put us on some fish we landed 3 nice sailfish and 1 mahi to take home for supper will definitely be back again next year! thanks again salt hunt chris and vanessa gallant

I had a 6 hour and 8 hour inshore trip with the crew of Saltamas center console and I couldn’t have asked for a better crew. They showed you how to do all types of fishing and techniques. We all got on more than enough fish. The crew was always ready to help and always interacting with you and kept the trip alive and fun. They were amazing guys especially Kevin and I would recommend this boat to anyone who is looking for any amazing time and a awesome once in a lifetime experience to catch some awesome fish.

Once in a lifetime fishing experience with these guys. On one 6 hour trip, my wife and I caught 2 ahi, a striped marlin, and a sailfish. Unbelievable morning of fishing. Captain Manuel and his crew are the best in the business.

These guys are pros. They know where the fish are, they know how to catch them and we’re able to hook us up with a Spearfishing guide (Guathier from Freedive CR) that helped us get on some nice yellowfin tuna. Caught fish on rod and reel as well but mostly focused on Spearfishing. They filleted the fish and cut fresh sashimi on the boat. Top notch operation, totally worth it.

Had a great full day of fishing with Salt Hunt. Even though the winds were higher than we would have preferred, the knowledgeable captain and crew safely got us to the fishing grounds for an excellent day of fishing. We boated 13 Mahi Mahi and saw humpback whales, numerous sea turtles and pods of hundreds of dolphins.

We spent an amazing family day at the sea fishing. My father in law came to visit us in Guanacaste and it was the perfect excuse to go fishing for the first time as a family. We have 2 little girls (7 and 4) they enjoyed while at the sea, me and my husband as well, and it was a lasting memory for us as a family. The captain and crew were amazingly friendly. And Sebastian arrange everything for us with so much kindness. At the end of the tour we took our fish to the Beach House in Flamingo and they prepare sashimi for us.

What an amazing day on the water. Friends of ours went out offshore fishing with Salt Hunt the day before and had a fantastic trip as well catching both Blue Marlin and Mahi. We choose inshore fishing and Captain Manuel and Dennis did not disappoint us. It wasn’t long before we had a Rooster on the line. This was followed up by a Yellowfin, a couple of Needlefish, a Bluefin Trevally and a monster Rooster weighing in around 45 lbs! Manuel and Dennis were both professional and knowledgeable. If you find yourself in this area do not hesitate to look them up!

Great day fishing! Weather was perfect and the crew is super experienced. They put us on some Mahi Mahi and Sailfish right away. I would definitely recommend this charter to any one that wants to fish in Costa Rica. Good vibes all around. Pura vida.

Great trip overall! Highly recommend. Saw dolphins, got 5 tuna saw beautiful caves! The captains made tuna sashimi for us. YUM!

What a great fishing trip and overall experience with Salt Hunt Charters. We went on a 6 hour private trip (wanted more than 4 but couldn't commit to 8!) on La Luna. We had 7 people on the trip with 5 of us solidly committed and 2 who were going basically because they had to!! Because of the 2, I wanted to find a boat with a roomy cabin. Sebastian basically tailored the whole experience to what I was looking for. We went on La Luna with Captain Elario. Jason was our deck hand. They worked their tails off for us. Admittedly, we started slow. You could tell it was quite a bit slower than either of them wanted......so you can imagine how slow it felt for us. Some larger than expected swells added to the lack of action made the 2 "fisherwomen" who were there because they had to be, very unhappy. LOL Fear not though. The hard work of Capt Elario paid off with a nice bull Mahi Mahi hooked and landed!! After that, we did a little bottom fishing to get a little more action. But the captain wasn't satisfied and through constant communication on the radio he found a school of smaller Mahi. Then we raced toward a school of Yellowfin which he found through further communication and expertise. I'll tell you, the swarm of Dolphins around those Yellowfin is a sight I will never forget!! We quickly hooked about 6 of the Yellowfin and it was time to head to the shore. I can't recommend Salt Hunt enough. Sebastian was always accessible for any and all of my questions. I started communicating with him via email about 6 months before our trip which was about 4 months before I even made the reservation! Super, super nice guy and a great fishing trip!!
