This lovely 7-day tour included numerous wonderful tours, nice hotels and great transportation on buses, ferries and trains. A couple of add-on suggestions: While in Rotorua, go and visit WaiOTapu and arrange for an overnight stop at Mount Cook.
Great review of a great itinerary.
Fabulous tour from Auckland to Queenstown. Well organized, well planned, great tours and stops, nice hotels. All the connections were on time! Lots of moving pieces, but flawless. Best part of the hotels were the locations. Each and every one was convenient for sightseeing! Well done, Leisure Tours and Viator. We loved New Zealand! What a spectacular land and friendly people.
Great review of a great itinerary - an excellent way to get a showcase of NZ.
Awesome experience. All the planning, from hotels to transportation to excursions were well planned and right on schedule. It was a great mix of tour and free time. Highly recommend.
Great review and comments. We do the hard work - so you don't have to!
This was a lovely 7-day trip from Auckland to Queenstown. We chose it instead of flying. We enjoyed every minute of this experience.
Great review thank you. We do the hard work so you can simply enjoy your tour and enjoy your holiday.
It’s like an adventure with well organized activities, transportation and good accommodations. We enjoyed it very much!
Thank you for your review - so pleased you had a fabulous time exploring the country. We take the time and hassle away so you can simply enjoy the best of what we have to offer. What a great holiday!!
Perfect tour to see North and South Islands in a short time. Great itinerary + very well planned + awesome drivers/guides. Each stop was perfectly coordinated. We found all of our the drivers/guides were very friendly and knowledgeable. The ferry crossing at Cook Straight was very smooth as it was on a big ferry. The train ride was comfortable and pleasant. The only thing we wish could be better was the ride from Kaikoura to Christchurch. We would prefer to jump on a train which was just outside of the whale watch counter instead of going back to the town to catch a coach.
Thank you for your review and your suggestion is noted. Great feedback from you from your tour and yours comments on the guides are appreciated - they do their very best to give you their very best. You packed a lot in, in a few days. Well done.
The tour is perfect to get an overview of the two islands. It's some of the best places to visit though it included very early starts and long travel days on buses. The tour fron Auckland to Rotorua is very good as it includes the glow worm caves. On the second day in Rotorua there's the cultural village and a Maori show. Unfortunately, it's not enough time to walk around the volcanic area with the mud pools and the geysers. It should be an hour longer to see all that as well. Wellington is just a night stop as you arrive late and leave early to catch the ferry to the South Island. The train ride from Picton to Kaikoura really is a highlight of the trip, going along the coastline and also seeing all the wineyards on the way. Just before arriving Kaikoura you might see fur seals. The same you'll see on the bus to Christchurch. Most of Christchurch is still under construction after the earthquakes. Especially the cathedral in the center is still closed. The city tour gives you mire information abiut the earthquakes and brings you to all the places you cannot reach by walking. From Christchurch to Queenstown it's another tour stopping at Lake Tekapo and Mt Cook. 9 hours driving but beautiful landscape. Some of the taxi pickups were difficult. Either they had the wring date or were not on time, or there was more than one taxi going to the same spot for different clients. With the privided contact numbers you could get in touch with the operators and fix it. Unfortunatly, not enough time to explore but a reason coming back to see more next time.
Thank you for the detailed review, pleased to learn you enjoyed the experiences whilst travelling across both Islands. I do hope you have the opportunity to visit New Zealand again at some future date.
I just returned from a 8-day North to South Island tour. Lizzy was helpful and professional in her dealings with my bookings. The driver in Christchurch by the name of Graham was very very friendly and informative. I strongly advise all visitors to look for Graham if they are visiting Christchurch. I hope Leisure Tours will give him a good bonus!!
Thank you for such a great review, Abdullah. It's awesome to hear that you enjoyed your North to South Island Tour of New Zealand. It has certainly been a pleasure accommodating you both! I have gone ahead and passed on your lovely comments to both Lizzy, our office manager, and Graham, your driver/guide in Christchurch, and they are thrilled to hear such positive feedback. Graham was particularly fond of you both during your stop over in Christchurch! :) Thanks again for the great review and I hope you get to visit us in New Zealand again in the future.
