+ The Guide makes the difference on the Inca Trail

I chose Trexperience 4 day-inca for the daily showers amenity afters having a difficult time deciding between the local operators as there is very little info distinguishing them. Now what i would recommend for future Inca trail hikers is to look at review for the guides. Our guide Roger was always pacing us so we wouldn't get tired, took photos with his own phone for us so we could be more immersed in the experience, and really felt like a family member holding my sons hand for entire hikes to keep him safe. Also he had some wonderful Pervuian stories told to us during dinner. My son still wears the bracelet Roger made out of grass. As we went on the private tour we were also afforded two extra tour guides Rosa and Roberto. Both helped us pace and had friendly chit chat and were there to help when we didn't need to hold our hiking sticks. Before camp each day Roger would walkie talkie to Alejandro our chef before getting to camp. We loved his soups and want the recipe, but haven't gotten it yet unfortunately. Tried many loma saltados during our stay, his was my favorite because of how simple and home-style it tasted. One note to potential Inca Trail hikers out there is to make sure you have tip(much deserved) prepared. It was bit of work and caused some anxiety to figure out how much to tip last minute. Ask the tour agency how many people will be supporting so you are ready with the recommended amount for each. There was a family staying at the same hotel also going on a tour with Alpaca and they were frantic at the atm as well.

Great experience- 4 day Salkantay Trek in June

It was a great experience for me . I had an adventure. I visited places I would never otherwise visit. When I struggled the guide (Royer Benavides) very accomadating and resourceful. He figured out a way to push on. The tour is very well thought of with a lot of details taken care of. The weather was very nice. No rain. Just crisp clear skies cold night nice days The Chef (Beltran) was great. The food was a very good sample of Peruvian cuisine. Only thing I would caution is that don’t underestimate the trek. Be prepared for rough terrain.

Salkantay Trekking, Much more than a trek: a magical adventure!

Where to even begin? My wife and I decided to celebrate our honeymoon in an alternative way, let's put it that way. We booked the Salkantay Trekking with TreXperience, and it was hands down one of the most beautiful experiences we’ve ever had. Everything was perfectly organized down to the smallest detail—like getting a hot water bottle on our first night at the campsite (when the outside temperature was around -2 to -5°C). The same goes for all the breakfasts, lunches, and dinners prepared by our Chef, Celso, along with Santiago, Bernardo, and the rest of the staff. They even surprised us with a cake when they found out it was our honeymoon, which was completely unexpected and truly beautiful. Let’s talk about the guides: Abelardo, our "captain." An incredibly skilled and knowledgeable person, as well as friendly and humble. It’s impossible not to chat and become friends with him. Alejandro, equally talented and knowledgeable. I have to say he is a wonderful person, our true third travel companion, always by our side helping each other out, talking about everything, and teaching us so much about the Quechua language and culture. Sergio, the kind of person who manages to give you all the confidence and peace of mind you need. Talking to him felt like talking to a deeply loved uncle. He was always right behind us, teaching and explaining so many things—truly a wonderful soul. To wrap it up, the trek itself was gorgeous. We saw landscapes and panoramas we had only ever seen in documentaries, with breathtaking mountains. The altitude made itself felt during the first two days, but it was never a dealbreaker. I would do it again in a heartbeat, and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for an adventure and wanting to connect with beautiful people and cultures. A big hug to our guides and to everyone who shared this journey with us. From the Italian newlyweds, Davide & Loredana

Incredible!!!

My experience with TreXperience was fantastic. We had our guide Eddie Puma and company, who were all incredible human beings, and our chef Julio Cesar, who was also the most whimsical human. They created the best possible experience for us on the Sao Kinh Thai trek and made us feel very accommodated. It was so worth the money and I would highly recommend to anyone and everyone to do this trek. It was more difficult than I expected with the altitude but Eddie gave me coca tea every night and morning and personally brought it to our tents. It was just a great way to meet many people from around the world and come together and bond over a shared goal and vision which Eddie Puma casts for us in a fantastic way. Highly, highly, highly recommend Trek Experience. The experience was Trek Experience

Phenomenal Salkantay trek, thank you Bacilio and Royer!

Just finished this trek, I booked solo for a group tour. Was unbelievable, particularly the scenery and the activities. The Trexperience team are brilliant, had an issue with dates when I booked initially and received a full refund within 24 hours. Their communication is excellent, there was always someone on the desk to answer any queries. The food was excellent, many thanks to our chef Bacilio who gave us a great cooking lesson aswell. Our tour guide Royer was outstanding. Not only was he kind, funny and informative (particularly on the cultural aspects of the trip) but he went above the call of order. As I was unable to obtain a machu picchu ticket in advance (due to me booking the trek late), I ended up having to go in the afternoon without the rest of the group. I was ok with this, but Royer was not! After getting the bus up to the top, I turn around and see Royer and he gave me an individual tour of machu picchu after the tour was supposed to have finished! Really kind, huge thanks again for this. Also, Royer was very patient and helpful when I had a blister on my toe, constantly making sure I was ok and helping me with plasters. Would highly recommend this trek

Once in a lifetime, would 100% recommend

We had an absolutely amazing time on the Salkantay Trek and would highly recommend it to anyone considering this once-in-a-lifetime experience. If you want to see MachuPicchu and love nature, this is the way to go. We were very lucky to have Royer as our guide. Throughout the trek, especially on the higher sections, he checked on us regularly to make sure we were doing well, asking if we needed a break or if the pace was comfortable. We really appreciated how attentive and supportive he was. Royer also shared a wealth of fascinating information about Inca and Quechua culture, as well as the plants and wildlife we encountered along the way. His knowledge added so much to the experience. The food was another highlight of the trip. Every meal was fantastic and far exceeded our expectations. A special thank you to our private chef, Bacilio, who prepared delicious meals every day despite the remote locations. The only minor downside for us was the accommodation on the second day. It wasn't quite what we had expected and fell a little short of our expectations. However, this was a very small issue compared to the overall quality of the experience. Despite that minor point, this trek fully deserves 5 stars. The scenery, organization, food, and especially Royer made it an unforgettable adventure. We would do it again in a heartbeat.

(Tre)Xperience of a lifetime

Fantastic experience with Edy Puma, Lourdes, and Raul. We went as a couple and had an amazing time. Our equipment was taken care of, meals were terrific, accomodation was a great vibe, and the group itself was a fantastic time. Hiking was of course a little challenging the first two days (we live at sea level) but the guides were very supportive while ensuring we had the space to challenge ourselves and do our thing. I’d definitely recommend 3 days to acclimatise and some altitude medicine for anyone else coming from sea level. Once again, overall amazing, one of the best things we’ve ever done. Also shoutout to Wilbur, guys a legend.

4 Day Salkantay Trek - Unforgettable

I did the 4 day Salkantay Trek with our guide Eddie Puma and his two assistant guides who were extremely caring and helpful. Eddie Puma was extremely knowledgeable and made every part of the trek feel authentic. Our chef Julio Cesar made great meals that were perfect for trekking and the cowboys always had our luggage delivered to each campsite before we arrived. Highly recommend for a more authentic experience than bigger companies.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I cannot recommend this trek highly enough! The 4-day, 3-night Salkantay Trek was truly one of the most incredible experiences of my life. From start to finish, everything exceeded my expectations. A huge thank you to our amazing guides, Edy, Lourdes and Raul. They were incredibly kind, knowledgeable, patient, and helpful throughout the entire journey. They made everyone feel welcome, safe, and encouraged every step of the way. Their positive attitudes and genuine care for our group made the experience unforgettable. The entire crew was outstanding. Every detail was handled professionally, allowing us to fully enjoy the trek and the breathtaking scenery. The views throughout the hike were absolutely spectacular and worth every step. Seeing the mountains, valleys, and changing landscapes was something I will never forget. A special shoutout to our chef, Julio Cesar.
