The boat arrived late, at around 1:00 p.m., and the tour ended at 4:15 p.m., so the entire experience lasted less than four hours. The snorkeling guide was good, but the team could have been more helpful toward guests who couldn’t swim. I noticed guides from other tour companies assisting non-swimmers much more closely during snorkeling. The lunch should also have been buffet-style with more options. Although I selected a vegetarian meal, only fries and salad were available. Considering the price and overall experience, other tours may offer better value.
Highly recommend booking with Captain Jamie and Captain Tiggy! They played great music, kept the tour fun and relaxing, and made sure everyone felt safe and cared for. The snorkeling was great, being with the pigs was so much fun, and the food was good too! Captain Jamie even jumped into the water to assist a couple of passengers, which really showed how attentive and careful they were. Amazing experience and great crew! 🐷🌊☀️🐢
I understand how the relationship between the tour operator and the facility the operates rose island where lunch was served. The tour with the turtles and reef snorkeling was good with the tour operator. When it came to lunch operations is when things fell through the cracks. Those that elected for the vegan option went without and the captain of the tour held all the drinks in a chest onboard and we were told that he was the only options for drinks. After several bribes of $20+usd were we allowed to have two waters and one rum punch. 2nd mate with the ankle monitor was short and seemed to want to be somewhere else. You’re better off booking with a smaller charter for the money.
We met our captain at Señor Frogs, where he was waiting for us at a pop-up tent on the sidewalk. Once aboard the boat, we toured the local area and picked up a few more passengers before starting our adventure. Our first stop was to swim with sea turtles, followed by snorkeling the beautiful reefs. We then headed to Pig Beach, where we had the opportunity to feed the pigs, take pictures with a baby pig, and enjoy lunch before making our way back to our original pickup destination. It was a fun-filled day with beautiful sights, memorable experiences, and plenty of opportunities to enjoy the water and local wildlife. A great excursion from start to finish! My only advice would be to bring plenty of sunscreen! The boat provided absolutely no shade, so be prepared to spend the entire day in the sun.
The entire boat ride was uncovered in the scorching heat. Would have liked it if the ship had covered areas from the sun. The crew was OK.
Awesome experience, Gary made the process very quick and easy. 10/10
Gary checked us in and was very pleasant to work with. made check in very smooth.
Had a great day with Captain Jaimie and his crew (Carl and Aiden). Loved the snorkeling with the turtles and tropical fish. We actually saw a barracuda! Our group of 4 enjoyed everything! I would highly recommend this trip!
Highly recommended, they made us feel safe & welcomed not to mention that we had the best time ever…10/10 experience
I reviewed this experience prior to cruising to the Bahamas on Norwegian Cruise Line. I have always wanted to book with a local company and not through the excursions managed by the cruise line. We paid $800 for 2 adults and 3 children (10, 7, & 7). I questioned multiple times if we were with the correct company (BahaWater Tours). We were offered canned mojitos whilst on the boat but when asking for drinks the guys often seemed bother by grabbing the drinks out of the cooler. The snorkeling equipment were chewed on or missing parts that attach to the mask. The best part was snorkeling with the sea turtles and tropical fish at rainbow reef but the pig island experience and lunch was less than desirable. Trash on the beach, weathered/broken beach furniture. The fish burger was decent but in all we would not recommend Carl or Captain Jamie. Felt like a forced experience on their behalf. We still tipped but would try something different next time with a different company.
