While TIA is the rule in Africa (TIA - This Is Africa), it doesn't even come close this failed experience. Arrived 15 min early awaiting pickup at 8 am per Viator listing and emailed instructions, no pickup. After 8 am pickup time had past without pickup or contact from vendor, contacted Viator and was told vendor's contact number. Called vendor to only be told TWICE, 'in a few' (exact wording). Ok, waited another hour with no pickup or contact from vendor. Contacted Viator on what to do. Viator recommended to just cancel, so we did. Told Hotel staff we cancelled after waiting over 1.5 hours and if someone shows up tell them that it was cancelled. Around 9:30 (1.75 hrs after we started waiting or 1.5 hours after pickup time) received a call from front desk that vendor had arrived, told them to tell vendor it was cancelled due to their pickup delay and failure to show or contact us timely.
All that our Client explained are true and some are not.! Our Client was to be picked from his Hotel Serena Hotel at 8.00 am on the dot. We assigned our driver for the pick-up at exactly that time. Our guide got delayed a long the way, however still managed to reach at Serena Hotel. Remember the National Museum of Kenya, the official opening hours is 8.30 am -5.30pm week days, and on Saturdays as on the case was is difference. When our Driver, reached went to the reception straight to see if they could be traced. The receptionist, traced them, and they were found when already back in their room, and by this, it was only like 10 mints passed 8.00 am. My Driver, waited, there because even the Museum was not yet opened by then. They were called, and responded. Our Client Paul only responded to the receptionist that they are NOT coming out a gain. This information was then passed to my Driver (Stephen). Our Client Paul Underwood, had no patience to wait, however, he could as well mentioned about our Driver who came for his pick-up. We apologize, having not met his expectation on time, which happens due to the traffic since it Saturday weekend. He could have just asked for his refund but not writing a review. We apologize, and next time, we will make sure to make a call to our Client and try to guide them on the official opening of our Heritage. If only Paul had this in mind, then he could have NOT cancelled this excursion since we were still within the time frame. Paul, consider and forgive, we are very sorry since we really had the best for you. Otherwise, I hope this our apology will meet your maximum consideration and cooperation. It will never happened a gain next time.
An excellent tour. The guide was well informed and attempted to address all our questions. The exhibit was well designed and informative
My experience with the service and Omollo, the guide was very delightful. I recommend this service if you had very little time and wanted to make use of it to learn Kenya's history and culture.
Samuel, my driver was great. Good English, informative and helpful. Car was a bit dated but was clean and tidy. The purchase of a ticket to the museum is a rather convoluted process; Samuel sorted that for me which I was thankful for.
