We booked directly with the company via Whatsapp, the owner was particularly responsive and helped us organise the right tour for my partner and me. They arranged our transfer from Medan Airport and our accommodation at the tour centre. The staff provided excellent service throughout the whole experience. We were guided by Tamborin and Bambang who were very friendly, spoke great English and highly knowledgeable about the wildlife. They served us plenty of food, water, tea & coffee and tropical fruit throughout the whole tour. Bukit Lawang itself is beautiful. The track was fairly challenging, but we went at a very gentle pace. The focus was to see wildlife, rather than travel to our next camp as quickly as possible. We saw orangutans, gibbons, hornbills, snakes and monitor lizzards. I can't fault the service provided by the team at Sumatra Orangutan Treks. Would highly recommend.

Amazing experience at the Bukit Lawang jungle trek alongside our wonderful guides Tesen and Fabian. The whole stay, from hiking in the tropical jungle, observing wild animals, eating the flavourful traditional food, and so on…, everything was perfect. We were literally immersed in the world of the jungle and this experience was heightened thanks to the guides. Not only they helped us navigating through the mazes of the jungle, but they also shared us their valuable and rich knowledge about the unique Bukit Lawang ecosystem, emphasising the need to be respectful towards Mother Nature. Overall, I completely recommend people to live this experience, this was a delight !
Can’t fault this experience. Everything ran so smoothly, our guides Amat and Azri were amazingly knowledgeable and patient and the food was delicious throughout. We were so fortunate to see multiple orangutans and other animals and we loved the jungle taxi river ride at the end. Would highly recommend Sumatra Orangutan Treks to anyone!

Very nice guide and experience. Saw some Orang-Utans and other animals and the food and nature were so beautiful. And the rafting on the river was an exciting finish. Also I've met very nice people.

We spent 3 amazing days! Total disconnection in the middle of jungle, monkeys and orang outangs! What we have seen, we will never forget! Organization on top! Guides on top! Many thanks to our guides Amed, Janet and Wawan and the whole team!! We ate well, full of good fruit;) To do!!

A great experience, really great and professional guides. The guest house has good facilities and a good restaurant. Nature is amazing and it is easy to see different types of free-ranging monkeys.

good expérience with one one mowgli and hamed the restaurant was so good the monkey and orang gutang was so beautiful and the discovering of the jungle was magic
