Loved it!!!! I definitely recommend to anyone looking to learn more about San Diego. We had fun!!!!!
I took advantage of the early bird special... 2 hours for price of one. My 11 year old granddaughter and I did the beach tour. We made a couple of stops, Shelter Island ,Ft Rosecrans, and Sunset Cliffs. Decided to take a couple of detours and made it back in the alloted time. The car was very easy to navigate and kept up with the traffic. I'm a local and still learned new things about my city.
This was so fun and a great way to see old town and the beach. You are traveling in normal traffic and it is not covered, so in the sun. Basically a motorcycle engine in a go cart. I would do it again to include other cities.
Our experience was probably not typical. Our computer speaker did not work and so we did not hear anything the entire trip and luckily we were able to follow our friends whose speaker did work. Otherwise we probably would’ve been totally lost because the GPS map was a little confusing, so we missed all of the narration about the places that we passed.. We also had a very annoying beep from the turn signals that went for the last hour and a half of the ride. When we were in the parking lot the worker had trouble turning it off and about a half hour into the ride the beeper would not go off, so it was very annoying and made the trip very unenjoyable. I think our car was maybe an older car because even when I called them to talk to them about turning on the speaker or howto get it to talk to us, we could not find a volume button on the screen even though she tried to lead me through it.The volume through the car was totally on high. Two things, one they should make sure that your speakers are working before you leave the parking lot and two if they had trouble turning off the turn signal beeper in the parking lot they should’ve known that we would maybe have had trouble on the trip. Even when we got back, the young worker tried to turn it off and it didn’t go off. We turned the car off and then turned it back on and it still didn’t go off. So as of right now, I would not recommend this trip for anybody because we were very unhappy. I am waiting for a call from the manager.
This was a fun and personal way to explore the city. The car was equipped with a GPS System that provided information about different activities and information about the city. It was really nice.
We loved this excursion. There were things we got to see in San Diego that we have not experienced before and we have been here a lot. The GoCar is a unique vehicle that is fun and lets you experience sites with no blocked view!
Had a lot of fun seeing all of the surrounding areas, and learning about the rich history. The GPS kept us on track.
A lot of fun but count not hear the GPS. Did the downtown route and passed by all the sites we wanted to see but knew we couldn’t get to without this experience.
Don’t waste your time renting these go cars they are not worth it. They are not maintained well and are very small. If you are tall like myself then it is tough to fit into them and due to lack of maintenance it was a horrible experience. My son drove his own with no issues and the girl setting us up with the cars had to bring the first vehicle back to give us another one and this next vehicle looked even more weathered than the first. I made it down the street about 1/8th of a mile and it stalled under the freeway with a Mack truck behind us honking its horn at us as I struggled to get it to start again. We were stuck there for at least 10 mins and I would get it to start and it stalled several times. When it was finally running it would stall every time we stopped to take pictures or look at a point of interest. After some time my wife felt so unsure if it would start up if we stopped at another point of interest that she elected to not stop at all for the rest of the tour. The experience was garbage and the manager said he couldn’t refund us for the one car due to it being booked with viator and said he couldn’t refund us refund our insurance as compensation which he did not. So life lesson for everyone is don’t use Viator and don’t use go car tours. It was a novel idea but definitely not worth it.
This was one of our most fun things we have done!! Got to see things in our own way and enjoy the outdoors!! Will do again if we have the chance!
