The town is beautiful and I enjoyed seeing it and learning about it. However, I felt there was too much time spent at the cathedral and not enough time in Old Town. The guide shared lots of stories about the past, but always closed the story with we have no proof and not sure if this happened. So I kept thinking then why tell me the story??!! Anyway it was a nice city but again wished more time was spent in old town
The satisfaction of our guests is very important to us, and we are sorry that the tour was different from what you expected. While some aspects of our early history are indeed shrouded in mystery and uncertainty, we base our tours on current historical and archaeological knowledge. If you could provide us with an example of a story you believe was inaccurate, we would be more than happy to clarify it and provide sources or additional information. Thank you for sharing your opinion. We are glad to hear that you enjoyed your visit to Poznań!
Our guide, Mateusz, was extremely knowledgeable and kind, There was a mixup when we booked which led to our booking somehow ending up in Mateusz's spam folder. When we contacted Mateusz, he was extremely accommodating and generous. We were only in town one more day and had plans until the evening, and Mateusz went out of his way to accommodate our schedules; even though he'd had a long day of doing other tours, he offered to fit us in the following evening at the time that worked best for us. To top it off, he said due to the mixup, he would refund us our payment and provide the tour for free. His tour was so excellent, thorough, and informative, and he had been so kind to us, that of course we refused to let him do it for free! However, we were touched that he was willing to go out of his way to accommodate us and that he put so much effort into the tour even with the offer of a refund. That shows a huge amount of integrity. The tour itself was extremely informative; Mateusz is clearly an expert on the history of Poznan, and we loved getting to see the architecture and the old churches. The drone footage was also very cool. Overall, this was a wonderful tour with a knowledgeable, caring guide with a ton of integrity, and we would highly recommend it! It was the highlight of our time in Poznan.
I waited at the cathedral, the designated meeting point for the walking tour, for 45 minutes, but the guide didn’t show up. I contacted the company through the Viator app, and they called me back to apologise, saying they weren’t sure what had happened but would try to reach the guide. About 20 minutes later, I received a message confirming they couldn’t get in touch with the guide and that I would be refunded. While I appreciate that the refund was handled promptly, the overall experience was disappointing and frustrating. If the tour wasn’t going ahead, I should have been informed in advance. The lack of communication meant I wasted a significant amount of time waiting around.
We’re very sorry for the inconvenience you experienced. We wouldn’t want this incident to negatively affect your impression of our city. We hope you’ll still have the chance to discover its charm. Guest satisfaction is very important to us, and we would like to make it up to you. If you are still in Poland, we would be happy to cover tickets to another attraction or pay for your next coffee, which we can refund online. Once again, we sincerely apologize and wish you a pleasant stay in our country. Mateusz Michałek City Guide Poznań +48 695611184
Mateusz was very knowledgeable about the history of Poznan. He was able to answer all of my questions and had lots of photographs and maps to bring his historical narrative to life. The use of the drone really added an extra dimension, providing fantastic views over the city landmarks.
Mateusz was a great tour guide! He was SO knowledgeable and the tour was a great way to see the sights and get our bearings - highly recommended !
We had a marvelous time. Our guide, Mateusz, impressed us from the beginning. He clearly has a deep love of history and of his city. He was very friendly and welcoming, and displayed incredibly deep knowledge of all the buildings that we visited, their history and evolution over time, and the historical context around each. His presentations were extremely well-judged, too. I'm a history buff, and Mateusz held the interest of not only my wife and me, but our 13-year-old daughter's as well. If you're going to visit a place, especially a place with a long and rich history, you owe it to yourself to learn a little bit about it. This two-hour walking tour provided just about a perfect mix of historical context and contemporary orientation on Poznań's "Cathedral Island" and its Old Town. We recommend it, and Mateusz, strongly and without reservation. Well worth doing.
My congratulations to our tour guide for his mesmerizing storytelling. His ability to bring the rich history of Poznan to life was truly exceptional. We found ourselves captivated by his narratives throughout the tour. It was an experience that enriched our understanding and appreciation of the city. We wholeheartedly recommend his guided tours to anyone visiting Poznan.
We did the 2 hour walking tour and it was enjoyable. The guide was very knowledgeable about the history of Poznan and Poland overall. The tour started with some drone footage which was fun and unique. As for the tour itself, personally I would have preferred a little less history (some of the dates, kings, etc were hard to keep up with) and a bit more of Poznan Market Square overviews and sights. For me, the market square is by far the nicest part of Poznan. But overall, still a good tour - especially for history buffs.
mateusz is a very excellent tourguide! I missed my train from czechia, so I contacted him and he postponed the tour for the next day, which I am grateful for. very informative with great drone skills, he is highly recommended !
It was two equally entertaining and informative hours with a knowledgeable guide who could simply convey his knowledge well. Thank you Mateusz!
