2 - Day Colca Canyon, Vicuna Reserve and Condors from Arequipa

Description

Fantastic trip to Colca Canyon. Our guide, Sline, shared so much information about the area, the animals, and the culture. He was exceptional. Our driver kept us safe on the long journey. We saw many condors, enjoyed the beauty of the canyon, passed thru several interesting towns, and reached an elevation of 16,000 feet! Highly recommend. Please note, the trip is a bit longer than suggested on the website - on our second day we were picked up at 7:00am, saw the condors and other sights, had lunch, and returned to Arequipa close to 4:00pm. A full day and worth every minute!
Two day, one night trip from Arequipa. Punctual pickup from hotel in modern 12 seater van. Excellent guide Victor Hugo. The group of 10 was a mixture of Spanish, Peruvians, Canadians and French. Lots of stops to see llamas, vicuñas and alpacas. Buffet lunches good. Optional stop at sulfar springs in Yanque good even in the drizzle. Lovely and warm pools. Optional Evening meal with a dance show was fun. You need to book your own hotel in Chivay. We were lucky with a beautiful day on 6th February and we saw some beautiful Condors. We were very lucky to see Condirs and to have such beautiful weather for early February.
Hello booked days ago a room for 2 adults and 3 children ,I get this morning an email saying that the room is canceled because we are going in a group ,when I go with my partner and my 3 children,,,play with the illusions of 3 children making their plans talking every day of the trip how good they are going to have fun now by telling him that they are not going to stop crying they do not want to go to any more than that ,play with the illusions of 3 children and cancel it for no reason, I will put a claim sheet not for me if not for playing with the illusion of 3 minors and make him suffer for not going to the holidays that they so wanted
The natural landscapes, the architecture of Arequipa and Cuzco, the archaeological treasures, the gastronomy, the people... It was an exceptional experience. We recommend Fertur as a travel agency for its concern and professionalism. Bravo!
This was a wonderful excursion, and Ruth was a fabulous guide. We were lucky to see different wildlife on our trip: vicunas, flamingos, mountain parakeets, condors, and more. Ruth knew that I liked birds so she made a special effort to point out different varieties to me. We were lucky to see several condors at Cruz del Condor viewpoint. We also had a great tour group that made the excursion extra fun. The Colca Valley and Canyon are beautiful and peaceful. You should do this trip!
The tour guide was very attentive and went out of his way to answer questions. BEWARE the web site does not specify where to rent the hotel and I ended up paying for two bookings.
After arrival at the hotel, I called the designated phone No. according to your instruction in the voucher. However, automatic message in Spanish was received and could not understand any thing. Then asked a hotel reception to tell my arrival and reconfirmation. For a English speaking traveler, impossible to understand telephone communication in Spanish. Re-confirmation should be not trough a phone but trough e-mail.Other things during the tour are very good, managed correctly and punctually, and I had a friendly tour guide.

I highly recommend this trip.
Everything was on time. Jane has very good English and huge knowledge. She is extremely friendly and helpful.
Views are unbelievable! We were very lucky to see condors. Colca Canyon is one of the most beautiful places I've ever seen.

This whole trip was fantastic. Jeannette was a very knowledgeable and friendly guide, and the drive was absolutely spectacular. Both of the lunch stops were very high quality. We also saw lots of vicunas and condors - we were lucky the day was so sunny and clear for the condors. Although the altitude change was a bit difficult at times, Jeannette always checked on us and made sure we were ok to keep going. We also had a stop during the drive for Inka or Coca tea, which was very appreciated. Would definitely recommend this for anyone looking to tour the canyon in comfort! I also recommend staying at the Colca Lodge Hotel and Spa overnight - it's out of Yanque a bit, but the atmosphere and services were second to none. I wish I could have stayed there another night, in fact!

This trip was amazing and exceeds expectations. The only thing I would recommend to people is to do a two night stay in the canyon instead of only one. The resort we stayed , the Colca Canyon Lodge, was beautiful , it had a great staff , and the hot springs were the bests we have been.
