Not a big reviewer but I'll be as honest as possible here and hopefully it may help some future travellers. We booked the excursion at the office in Costa Teguise on a whim and thought it sounded like a nice way to spend an evening for 2 adults and an 8 year old, deposit was paid and the rest payable via cash or card on departure in Puerto del Carmen. On the day of departure I mistakenly decided to read the reviews where I instantly regretted my decision, after reading I envisioned people being sick and a white knuckle ride. This couldn't be further from the truth, whilst the vessels are clearly well powered they are driven in a calm manner and it handles the swell of the ocean well. Those in charge spoke in Spanish, English and German ensuring everyone has understood the instructions, life jackets and boats were there if they should be needed. After reading the reviews we had packed spare clothes although us or no one on board needed that. We had also packed a few drinks to enjoy and were glad of those (bins provided). Most importantly a toilet is on board which can be accessed throughout the trip. The tour was great and we were lucky enough to encounter dolphins, we spent a while watching them which was amazing. After the tour was finished we headed back to the harbour where the champagne (cava-palateable) was dished out in a liberal manner (3 tumblers). Apple juice cartons were provided to the children. The included 'pastries' were a bit of traditional local cake each and then a following pastry each. Whilst on board those who wish to smoke or vape could do so at their leisure at the back of the boat. Overall it's hard to understand the negative reviews as the whole experience was pleasurable, affordable and even without seeing the dolphins we agreed it was value for money. Thank you for the experience and the hospitality.
Coach transfer was smooth and hassle-free. We were picked up from a neighbouring hotel. Had to wait about 20 mins to board. We had super seats at the front of the boat. Good views from all seats bar some that have part of the boat structure blocking a view. You have to stay seated at all times as the boat is very speedy, creating an exciting, bouncy water experience. All ages were on board, but personally wouldn't advise for babies/toddlers. Zoomed around for 2 hours, lovely views and almost didn't see any dolphins, bar a super-mum who spotted a dolphin, even whilst dealing with her poorly children! We also saw flying fish, which was joyful to behold. The champagne and cake whilst enjoying the sunset was very enjoyable too. The boat stops at that point, so good to snap some landscape photos. Then, it was time to leave, a guide shows you the way back to your returning coach and the journey was quicker. All in all, a lovely experience to enjoy on your holiday. We would deffo return again!
Necessarily a pleasant experience in the sense that we were lucky enough to observe many dolphins this evening, with 2 teenagers who were delighted! The guide is also French-speaking, the boat is comfortable and spares you from wave splashes, even with swells! So you come back dry! The 2.5 hours went by very quickly in the end, the little piece of cake and the snack served are certainly not high-end but in the end, it was nice! At first we wanted the catamaran but there were no more spots available in our time slots so we opted for this solution..and it turns out to be more suitable because: - the catamarans we saw were packed and maneuvered with difficulty. - on the catamaran, when the dolphins appear on the side opposite yours, it is almost impossible to change sides in time! - The jetboat we had is much more maneuverable and fast, so as soon as dolphins are visible, it turns quickly to join the group. - you can stand up and change sides easily to observe the dolphins from all sides, even with a full boat! - honestly, I didn't get the impression that we were on top of each other. Small downside, I am not a fan of music in this type of context, much preferring to enjoy the ocean without any nuisance other than the boat's engine, but that is purely personal! In conclusion, we returned satisfied with our evening (2.5-hour cruise, from 6:00 PM to 8:30 PM).
Wasn’t what we expected, read the small print! it was a fast splashy speed boat ride, cheap champagne in plastic mugs with a tiny cake. We found it uncomfortable and no dolphins in sight and were then directed to the wrong coach back to the hotel and ended up having to get a taxi from another town. Also felt it was very expensive for what it was
We were able to observe dolphins. But they do not respect them. Too pushy, surrounding them with 2 boats. During another trip, we went on a cetacean excursion in the Caribbean that was done with a specialist. During this one, he explained their behavior to us. We went there to watch the sunset and the excursion ended before the sunset. This place is not the best spot to see the most beautiful one. I regret not having looked for another provider. My only regret of this vacation. I do not recommend it
The wind was blowing the day we went and we weren’t hopeful of seeing dolphins. However our excellent guide, Teddy, searched and searched until he found a huge pod. There were dolphins all around and racing the boat. It was wonderful. Special thanks need to go to the fabulous guide Teddy. He not only kept us amused, and informed, in multiple languages, but also made sure our teen (who has extra needs) was cared for and had a good vantage point to see the dolphins. Thank you Teddy x
We have over the years done a lot of the boat trips here, but not this one. It was an excellent trip, gorgeous weather and Teddy our guide was funny, effusive as well as being very informative. Cake and champagne was good.Saw loads of dolphins, some of which swam right by or close to the boat. We also saw a fin whale. Overall, excellent trip and value for money and thoroughly recommend it.
Incredible experience! The guides were great, we highly recommend this activity! We were lucky enough to see dozens of dolphins. Teddy told us the history of the sea creatures with passion and was incredibly kind, very involved in his mission. A little extra for foodies: champagne, fruit juice, and a delicious cake are served on board (okay, it wasn't apple... but it was excellent 😉). If you run into Teddy, Antonio, and Aduen, don't hesitate at all: go for it! They are wonderful and made this experience unforgettable.
You can’t guarantee to see any dolphins or whales. We saw none. To make it worse there wasn’t even a sunset the times of sunset was after the trip finished. Surely this should be looked into and adjusted accordingly. The drink that was given was cheap and nasty undrinkable. (The sea appreciated it more than me). Left feeling upset and disappointed a lot of money for a lot of nothing
Amazing trip Teddie was so informative and a lovely person. We saw many dolphins and the crew took us to exact areas where we saw so many swimming alongside the boat. Loved every minute and near the end after a glass of cava and some cake he took photos of the travellers up on the bow of the boat and took a selfie 😂
