We joined a 14-day overland tour from Côte d’Ivoire to Nigeria, covering Ghana, Togo, and Benin. The tour was run by Evans, who also acted as driver and organiser, with Princess as our main guide for most of the journey. Inclusions Our tour included hotels, daily breakfast, and all entrance fees. Hotels ranged from higher-end 2-star options to luxurious beach resorts. Guides & Organisation Princess, who is from Ghana/Togo, was with us most of the time and handled explanations, logistics, and meals. She was knowledgeable and easy to travel with. Evans joined us occasionally and handled things on the ground, behind the scenes. One thing we appreciated was how well-staffed the operation is. When Princess had to leave due to an emergency after 7 days, another guide stepped in smoothly for Benin and Togo. Later, when Evans fell sick, a replacement guide and driver were already prepared. The transitions were handled without disrupting the trip. Highlights / Pros The itinerary is quite full, with more activities compared to our other West Africa tour. The guides shared with us many of their experiences and stories and brought us to some of their favorite spots, like the "best Jollof rice in Nigeria". Driving distances are manageable and days usually end before dinner. Evans is firm when dealing with corruption and avoids unnecessary payments. The team is resourceful and has strong backup support. Hotels were generally comfortable. They also helped arrange a visa for us to enter Nigeria. Things to Note: We were taken to a craft market for a drumming experience, but vendors were quite pushy and it felt like a hard-sell situation. Not the fault of the tour operator. Many hotels, due to them being in exclusive locations, are located away from affordable restaurants, so we often had to rely on pricier hotel meals. However, these are usually the higher-end hotels. Overall This is a well-organised tour with a strong support team and a packed itinerary, and we got to see some incredible experiences like a Zangbeto voodoo performance. While there are a few logistical trade-offs, it’s a solid option for anyone looking to explore multiple West African countries in one trip.

Evans is a great guide. Very cool person as well. We traveled through 5 countries in 14 days. It was a long journey, and great adventure. I really recommend Evans, you can trust him 100%. Straight up guy, very honest, and helpful. Next time I’m in west Africa, I will contact him as well.

The accommodations were well-chosen, and the local food stops added an authentic flavor to the whole experience. Excellent tour, Evans and and interpreter Roland was great, my daughter and i took the pilgrimage to a 5 country tour of West Africa and the experience will be a forever memory. We started in Nigeria and finish in Ivory Coast and i could not have go a better experience and exposure to my history and my ancestor.

This was one of the best trips we've ever taken. Evan's Tours was phenomenal from start to finish. Evan never left our side the entire vacation, providing consistent support and guidance.
