Les collines de Shimba sont à une heure de route de la célèbre plage de Diani, ce qui constitue une combinaison parfaite pour les vacanciers pour profiter de la plage et de la nature. Il est également fortement recommandé comme tourisme sportif, avec environ 1 heure de marche vers et depuis la cascade.

Shimba Hills est une forêt tropicale humide avec différents types d'animaux, d'oiseaux, de flore et de faune. Pour les amoureux de la nature, il vaut la peine d'être visité. Les points forts de shimba se caractérisent par une visite aux célèbres chutes de sheldrick, où l'on peut prendre une douche. Le déjeuner est servi au Green Lodge avec un paysage à nul autre pareil.

Overall it was a wonderful day out. Unfortunately, our ‘guide’ was more of a driver who barely said anything and was not personable. Was hoping for someone more knowledgeable and outgoing instead of shy and quiet. Borderline three stars … Saw plenty of animals but not as many as we hoped. It’s clear that the conservation area has lost a lot of animals to poaching. Some zebra and a few other species of antelope but that’s about it. Elephants are very shy and few and you are lucky to see any more species. Lunch was nice and so was hike to the falls.

Did this trip in 2019, but not given the option to select that date! If you are fit and healthy the trip/walk to the waterfall is wonderful! On this trip we will not be going because my travelling partner has a knee problem! It is not for the faint hearted and certainly stirs the muscles.

The nature walk to the Sheldrick Falls is about 2.3 km which is a wonderful experience for the nature lovers however one needs to be physically fit due to the hilly landscape.
