A must if you are in Killarney

This is my third carriage ride around the national park and this was as good as the first. Informative, friendly and definitely worth doing to see the park and get a change of scenery from the hustle and bustle of Killarney centre.

Brilliant experience and lovely tour guide Gerard.

Went for the horse & carriage tour round Killarney National Park today and had such a great experience. The views were absolutely breathtaking. Gerard our tour guide was so friendly and provided lots of knowledge about the history of Killarney, including Ross Castle, all of the lakes, the animal life, the islands etc. He was a great tour guide and I would highly recommend doing this tour as it gives you a great look at the entire national park while also enjoying a horse & carriage ride.

Enjoyable Visit

Lovely way to spend an hour in Killarney National Park. Our 'driver' Tony with his mare Guinness was an efficient guide and great banter. The park is huge so unless you have boundless energy, this is a nice way to visit.

Our tour guide was Gerald...

Our tour guide was Gerald and his horse counterpart Bitsy. Both were top notch. The national park is very pretty. The trip to the Ross Castle and the Loch of Learning is enjoyable but short. It was raining/drizzling most of the morning when our tour was scheduled. When we got out to walk around the castle I realized how important shoe choice is. The area is a common stop for many horse drawn carriages throughout the day. Most of the carriages have a way to contain the horse poop but some still falls on the ground. That poop gets stepped on/rolled over and mixes in the puddles to make a slurry of sorts. Soft absorbing material on shoes can soak up some of the lovely slurry and then you track it back to your ride with you.
