This three-day tour package is ideal for first-time visitors to Sri Lanka—particularly solo travelers who prefer not to rent a car and navigate the roads on their own. Given Sri Lanka's underdeveloped public transportation system and rugged mountain roads, traveling in a professionally driven vehicle is a much safer option. My driver and guide, Ranga, is an experienced professional affiliated with the tour agency, Apple Vacations, and boasts an excellent track record of successful assignments. He took excellent care of me throughout the journey, making every effort to provide commentary along the way—despite his somewhat heavy English accent. At several key attractions, the agency outsources the guiding duties to local experts, thereby ensuring visitors receive a more specialized level of service (though, naturally, a discretionary tip is appreciated). If you wish to delve deeper into Eastern religions, I would recommend extending your stay for a few extra days.
Well-planned and well-executed tour. All destinations met our expectations, and the hotel stays were nice and clean. We really have to praise our guide, Chathu—such a super nice guy with lots of knowledge about Sri Lanka. 10/10, would recommend.
This was an incredible tour! We felt like it covered all the major highlights and we didn’t feel rushed. Our tour guide Krish was lovely and gave us heaps of good tips along the way too - really friendly guy and safe driver! He spoke really good English so that helped too. The hotels we stayed at were comfortable 3&4 star hotels which was great and in good locations. The places that Krish took us for lunch were all really good places with good food. I especially liked the safari in Udawallawe and the village tour we did at Sigiriya - as part of the village tour we got to have lunch made by the villagers and that was an absolute highlight and really recommend everyone to do the Sigiriya Village tour lunch (I think this was with ‘A+ Tours’). Krish was also able to customise the trip on the spot based on our preferences and even stopped at additional places (like for us to get durian haha). Overall great trip and would highly recommend!
This was an outstanding 3 day experience. I was picked up early morning by my driver and guide, Dhanesh. There was only one other person on the trip with me and we had a very comfortable luxury vehicle, and provided water each day. Dhanesh took very good care of us as we drove to spend the night in Kandy, then Ella, and then made sure we were both dropped off again in Colombo. I loved the incredible views, the waterfalls, the Nine Arch Bridge and train ride, and the visit to Udawalawe to see elephants, crocodiles, lots of birds, and more. This was a great experience for a solo traveler and I would highly recommend this tour!
The best part of our tour was our driver/guide, Chathu, who was generous with his knowledge and driving skill! He had so much information for us and treated us like friends throughout the three days. He seemed to have friends in every town we moved through, and could respond to any changed needs quickly and in good humour. We were very happy with the contents of our tour with a few small exceptions. My husband and I were unable to do the climb up lions rock owing to bad backs and vertigo and Chathu didn’t try to force us or leave us waiting, rather he found a substitute experience by tuktuk at short notice. Unfortunately our tuktuk driver spoke no English, which meant we missed a lot of background to the area that we would have appreciated. The two hotels we stayed in were clean and comfortable, but we were disappointed at the poor internet connectivity at both of them. At each hotel the food was varied and tasty. We strongly recommend a tour with Chathu.
We had a lovely time on this tour and would recommend it. Our driver Ranga was excellent and ensured that we had an enjoyable experience, with safe driving and checking if we wanted to go to any stopover attractions. The stops for fresh fruit and traditional Sri Lankan food were a great experience. The days are full on and quite busy but you can still go at your own pace and take it all in. Thank you Ranga!
very well organized ,the Danish driver fantastic and very dedicated ,I recommend turn .Thank you and see you soon!!!!!!
We did 3 days touring the south of Sri Lanka visiting different cities. The organization of the route satisfied my interest, also our driver "danesk" was very punctual and helpful also his knowledge to allow you to understand a little more about the history of this nation. Also we travelled with a couple of very nice Indians.
This was an amazing 3 day tour from the moment we were picked up at our hotel to the time we were dropped back 3 days later. Primarily, what made it a wonderful experience from start to the finish was the efforts of our tour guide, Rukshan. Despite all the challenges in the lead up to the tour, mostly caused by cyclone Ditwah😥, we still managed to visit the majority of the places listed without too many changes. Thanks to Rukshan for working on the detours to get us safely to each of the destinations, navigating the winding roads and the Sri Lankan traffic! While both overnight stops had comfortable accommodations, the Kandy stop was a nice surprise. Sigiriya, Dambulla, Kandy, Pilimanthalawa, Ella and Udawalawe were some of the highlights of this tour for us. In summary, the tour was nothing but a wonderful experience and when we next return to Sri Lanka to explore more, we will be choosing Apple Vacations as our tour company, and hopefully we can ask for Rukshan again. Highly recommended!
We had an incredible experience traveling around Sri Lanka with Danish. We were two women traveling together, and from the very beginning he made us feel safe, comfortable, and well taken care of at all times. Danish is extremely kind, respectful, punctual, and professional. His vehicle was always very clean and comfortable, which made long drives pleasant. He was attentive to every detail, flexible with our plans, and always willing to help. He took us to beautiful places, gave great local recommendations, and made the whole trip smooth and enjoyable. We truly felt relaxed and supported throughout the journey. We highly recommend Danish, especially for female travelers looking for a safe, reliable, and memorable experience in Sri Lanka. We would definitely choose him again!
