Dubai Tours: Desert Safari, Burj Khalifa & Old Gold Souk
The City of Superlatives
Dubai holds more world records than perhaps any other city: tallest building (Burj Khalifa, 828m), largest shopping mall, busiest airport, tallest hotel. But it also has the dhow-filled Creek, the gold and spice souks, the Al Fahidi historic quarter, and desert dunes 20 minutes from the city centre.
Must-Do Dubai Tours
Desert Safari (Evening)
The quintessential Dubai experience. A 4x4 dune bash in the red sand dunes, followed by a Bedouin camp: camel ride, sandboarding, henna, falconry, shisha, and a buffet of Arabic mezze under the stars. Most tours depart at 3pm and return by 10pm.
Burj Khalifa At the Top (124th Floor)
At 555m, the 124th floor observation deck offers 360° views of Dubai, the Gulf, and on clear days, the Al Hajar mountains of Oman 100km away. Book tickets online — sunset slots sell out first.
Old Dubai Walking Tour
Across Dubai Creek lies old Dubai: Al Fahidi Fort (1788), traditional wind-tower architecture, the spice souk, and the gold souk (200 jewellery shops displaying 10 tonnes of gold). Cross the creek by abra (traditional wooden ferry, 1 AED).
Day Trip: Abu Dhabi
90 minutes from Dubai, the UAE capital has Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque (82 domes, the world's largest Persian carpet), the Louvre Abu Dhabi, and the Formula 1 circuit at Yas Marina. A full-day tour covers all three.
