Itinerario
El recorrido comenzará frente a un avión abandonado Douglas C-47 Skytrain o Dakota. Esta maravillosa pieza de la historia de la aviación da la bienvenida a los visitantes curiosos con las alas abiertas. Aprovecharemos esta rara oportunidad para subirnos al avión y explorar el interior. Luego procederemos a las pistas. Mientras conducimos con cautela por las interminables pistas, intentaremos imitar e imaginar cómo sienten los pilotos al despegar. Al cruzar las pistas, comenzamos a ver un agujero en forma de avión en la colina. Al llegar a la entrada de los túneles, nos encontramos frente al punto culminante del recorrido. Mientras revisamos las linternas conoceremos la información básica sobre el objeto y las normas de seguridad que debemos seguir. Durante nuestra caminata de 3 kilómetros a través de túneles oscuros, hablaremos sobre la construcción, los días operativos y la destrucción de la base. Cubriremos historias personales y experiencias de empleados, relaciones y conflictos. El recorrido finalizará de regreso en el avión.

Amazing guide - he had so many stories about the place and took us to the core of the airbase. I would not recommend going alone as it is not safe but this tour - amazing! He knows stories from people that actually worked there! Amazing!
Recently we did the Zeljava Airbase Tour and it was a very nice experience! Our guide clearly had a passion for the airbase and knew all about its fascinating history. It is a lot of fun to do and impressive to see this huge underground complex up close. An absolute must for anyone who is in the area!
Highly recommended! We are so glad we decided to book this tour. Without a guide, you would miss so much of the history and the experience. Thanks to this tour, we were able to explore large parts of the underground airbase that you simply wouldn't be able to see on your own. Being from the area himself, he shared many fascinating stories and insights that really brought the place to life. This tour is absolutely worth the money. We visited the Željava air base, a truly incredible historic site, which we were able to understand and appreciate much better thanks to our guide, Antonio. He accompanied us in total safety and with extraordinary preparation. Even though access to the base is free, experiencing it with a guide like him has a completely different feel. You can immediately tell that he has studied the history of the place thoroughly, that he is passionate about it, and that he loves sharing his knowledge. It is an experience we absolutely recommend: it is truly worth relying on someone who knows such a fascinating place rich in history so well.
We received extensive explanations about the history of the airbase and the historical context. Unique picture of the reaction of the then communist Yugoslavia to the threat of Stalinism, even though this site is increasingly plundered. Antonio takes you to the corners where a minority of visitors dare to go. Very nice experience (our daughters actually felt like urban explorers)
This experience was amazing to say least, Antonio has so much to offer and his knowledge of the base is fascinating. Without him guiding us through the base we would have been lost and not known what we were even looking at, it is incredible the size of the interior of the base inside the mountain and the structure that was built just amazing. Thanks Antonio this was a great experience!

An absolutely unique experience! We booked a tour with Antonio, and it made the visit so much more interesting. Antonio is incredibly knowledgeable and takes you through the entire complex. He shares fascinating firsthand stories from people who worked at the facility, which really brings the history to life. If you visit on your own, you’ll only see the main tunnel. With Antonio, you get access to and learn about the entire complex, making the experience much more complete. The tour lasts about two hours and is absolutely worth it. Excellent value for money. The tour is worth every euro and was one of the highlights of our trip.
Absolutely worth it. Antonio is incredibly knowledgeable. His anecdotes and knowledge add so much. He provided in depth insight and even stopped to show us photos and videos for when the base was in operation.
Very interesting tour, from historical, political, military and human perspective. Our guide, Mr. Antonio, was magnificent! Really informative, humorous and having patience for all of our photo sessions. Provided us with good hand lamps. If I had been there without his guidance, it wouldn't have been even 20% of the whole experience.
