Such a great experience! Our tour guide, Fransisco, picked us up from our hotel and was very welcoming and friendly from the start. He knew so much about the history of Belize, which he shared on the long car ride to the xunantunich ruins. He made the trip go by so fast. Lunch was the best food we had on our trip. We then went cave tubing and learned even more. Overall was one of the best experiences in Belize.
My family and I had an excellent experience on our cave tubing adventure today. Our guide, Jose, took every opportunity to make us feel comfortable and taken care of. He was intelligent, knowledgeable, and thoroughly answered all of our questions. I can't express enough how much fun he made the whole day. This was the best excursion we ever had!
If you’re considering an excursion in Belize, stop looking and book with Wilder Belize Adventures! We booked the cave tubing tour with Wilder and his wife, Catherine, but what we experienced was so much more than we ever expected or could have imagined. From the very beginning, their communication was outstanding. Wilder picked us up right on time in a clean, comfortable van. Knowing how hot Belize can be, he immediately made sure the temperature was comfortable for us and let us know he had bottled water and soft drinks ready for the drive. Since it’s about a two-hour trip, he had already planned the perfect stop along the way with clean restrooms, hot breakfast, coffee, and snacks available. It happened to be pouring rain during our stop, and Wilder went out of his way to keep us as dry as possible getting in and out of the van. That level of care and thoughtfulness continued throughout the entire day. The excursion itself was absolutely unforgettable. Floating through the incredible caves would have been enough on its own, but Wilder took us far beyond the typical cave tubing experience. We climbed to hidden Mayan ruins, explored areas most visitors never see, and even swam through breathtaking sections of the cave. It was truly a once-in-a-lifetime adventure. What impressed us most was how much they genuinely cared about making our day special. By the time they dropped us back at our rental, we felt like we were saying goodbye to friends rather than tour guides. Our only regret is that we didn’t book more excursions with them. They set the bar so incredibly high that every other outing had a lot to live up to. If you’re planning a trip to Belize, I cannot recommend Wilder Belize Adventures enough. Browse everything Wilder offers, and if you don’t see exactly what you’re looking for, just ask! I have complete confidence that he’ll either make it happen or connect you with someone who can. Thank you, Wilder and Catherine, for giving our family memories we’ll treasure forever. We had an absolute BLAST! Much love from Texas, The Hight Family
I had an amazing experience on the Xunantunich and Cave Tubing tour from Placencia! From the moment we started, our guide made the trip enjoyable and engaging. I originally planned to sleep during the drive to the ruins, but his fascinating stories, deep knowledge of Belize’s history, and entertaining personality kept me fully engaged the entire way. Not only was he incredibly knowledgeable about the history and culture of Belize, but he was also an expert on the local wildlife, especially the birds. He shared great recommendations on local food and hidden gems throughout the area. Everywhere we went, people seemed to know him, which spoke volumes about the relationships he has built and the respect he has earned. His hospitality and customer service were truly exceptional. He consistently went above and beyond to make sure everyone had a great experience. What impressed me most was his willingness to help connect visitors with other activities and experiences, even if they weren’t part of his own tour. I have already recommended him to friends, family, and colleagues, and I highly recommend this tour service to anyone visiting Belize. If you’re looking for a knowledgeable, personable guide who genuinely cares about providing an outstanding experience, this is the tour for you!
There is a difference between hiring a driver or getting a certified tour guide. Francisco was definitely in the category of tour guide extraordinaire (ask him about his certifications and Mayan heritage). It’s a long drive to Xunantunich but it went quickly because Francisco educated us about everything we saw and asked about. He pointed out various trees that were of interest on the way to the ruins as well as the historical aspects of Mayan culture. Wear GOOD shoes for this tour. Steps are NARROW and yes, you go to the TOP with no guard rail but Francisco made sure we went very slowly up and down (start down on your butt so you can reach the handrail). Steven at the cave tubing site was also a great guide - funny and joking. Everyone is tied together on the tubes which made it easier to hear and also raise our feet and back sides so we didn’t scrape. They spotted bats, cave features, a trogon (bird), as well as a toucan (on my bucket list) and pointed out many interesting trees/plants. The van was NEW and air conditioned plus he brought water so Wilder invests in his business to make sure guests are comfortable. The lunch stop was a nice authentic Belizean roadside restaurant with the choice of fried chicken, stew chicken, or pork with rice and beans and a soda. Francisco had a long day on this trip and kept us all moving so we saw everything and made it back home safe. Francisco is a super nice man and we are honored to have spent the day with him.
Wonderful experience. Our tour guide shared the Mayan history and folklore making it even more enjoyable. Highly recommend!
Wilder was a great host. Very friendly and super knowledgeable. He helped create an excellent experience!
Best tour of our trip. I can’t say enough about our tour guide, Wilder. He made the trip fun and was incredibly knowledgeable and friendly, making us all feel welcome.
Sendy was our tour guide and he went above and beyond to make our experience a much enjoyable one. He was patient, considerate and incredibly knowledgeable about the places we visited. I highly recommend using this company and selecting this tour if you want to try something new!
We had a very special experience. I highly recommend Luis N. He picked up our family of 4 at our Airbnb and drove us to the ruins. He knew so much history about Belize and the Mayan ruins. He took his time to explain each area. My dad was having a difficult time keeping up due to COPD and Luis was so patient to allow him time to rest and catch his breath (he did this ALL day - he was so considerate). I also appreciated how protective he was with my little one - she wandered off a few times and he made sure she didn’t get hurt/fall. After the ruins, Luis took us to Benny’s kitchen for some amazing grub and then we were off to the cave for intertubing. Luis took a shortcut to help my dad and he really appreciated this. This day was the experience the entire family kept talking about on the vacation. I am thankful! Thank you Wilder Belize and Luis!
