I joined a Walkington walk with Alex and it was exceptional. Alex is a thoughtful, warm and organised host who clearly cares about the experience she creates. What a truly beautiful walk across the Wellington skyline with Alex, the owner and guide of Walkington. We joined the Wild Skyline hike in December and were lucky with clear skies, gentle weather and stunning views the whole way. The day was very well organised, with transport, timing and lunch (& ice cream!) all taken care of, which made it easy to relax and fully enjoy the experience. Alex is a fantastic host - calm, knowledgeable and genuinely attentive. She struck the perfect balance between guiding, sharing local insight and giving space to enjoy the landscape. It felt thoughtful and personal rather than rushed or overly "toury". A really memorable way to experience Wellington’s wild edges. What an absolutely beautiful walk across the Wellington skyline with my travelling companions and Alex (our guide and owner of Walkington). We went in November (spring) and had lovely weather, clear skies and a light breeze. It was very well organised in terms of transport and the host Alex really did a great job. She was super helpful and really made the day enjoyable. We will be back in the Autumn ‘26 and will definitely use her guided services again for the escarpment. Declan
