Wilson is such a wonderful human being. My family — my husband and our 15 and 9 year old daughters — enjoyed every aspect of the tour. His passion, knowledge, and lived experience gave us a much deeper understanding of how Mayan culture is woven throughout Guatemalan life today, as well as the history behind it. I felt a strong connection to everything he shared, and he was so thoughtful and considered in his responses to our questions. He's a genuinely kind person, and it showed in every interaction. Our group included three other solo travelers, and I loved watching how naturally Wilson connected with each person — including my daughters, who were just as engaged as the adults. Many of the things he taught us kept popping up throughout the rest of our trip in Guatemala, and it gave our family so much more curiosity and context for what we were seeing. Weeks later, we're still talking about what we learned. Thank you, Wilson! We hope to cross paths again someday.
Wilson was a wonderful guide. Tour was filled with tons of great information and stories. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a deeper connection with Mayan history.
Wilson is one of the most genuine, inspirational people you will ever meet. His tour is National Geographic worthy — teaching about Mayan culture not only with a presentation of facts, but as he said, with his “heart.” As a pastor who was the only one on this tour, I enjoyed our deep conversations and walked away with a deeper appreciation for the way his culture respects the Earth and how his people serve as a living testimony of resistance to empire. Wilson didn’t just give a tour, he shared a cohesive narrative that makes you realize that history is still very much alive.
Very interesting visit but I think the story should be a little more objective.
I can't express enough how wonderful this experience was! This is clearly a labor of love for Wilson. He taught me so many things about Mayan culture from pre colonial times to the present. I will now be able to notice more as I'm here in Guatemala and will carry with me the joy Wilson sees in nature, spirituality, and the love and respect of his culture. Thus is hands down one of the best experiences I have ever had.
This tour with Wilson was one of the most genuine, memorable, and inspiring experiences I have ever had. His passion and knowledge of the culture was remarkable. Guaranteed you will enjoy!! Thank you 🙏
Wilson was a great guide! My sister and I took his tour on our second day and it was a great decision. He is very knowledgeable about the history and culture of Mayans and how they influenced current day Guatemala. We had a great walk full of history, context, and good conversation.
Wilson was one of the kindest souls I've ever met. It was my first time visiting Guatemala since my birth and adoption in Guatemala city. He made the experience the greatest. He's extremely knowledgeable, well spoken, understanding, and kind. Definitely the best part of my two week trip. I'll never forget it.
Excellent. Energetic. Informative. Loves what he does. Wilson is seemingly the owner and operator of the company that does this tour...perhaps a one man show, he does it all. no point in repeating what all the others have said...its true. hes great, would def recommend. is well worth the money. you can always roam around town and try to figure out what you are looking at...or you can pay a guide who is knowledgeable, not only about the things that are shown, but the details "behind the scene". a plus for Wilson he was very accommodating and flexible: we booked a tuk tuk to the top at the Cross and walked down (saved my knees and tired body).
If you're looking for an authentic experience with someone who truly cares about sharing and passing on their culture, don't hesitate!
