Itinerario
Iniciaremos este tour desde su hotel. Lo recogeremos en el lobby de su hotel temprano en la mañana y nos dirigiremos al departamento de Chimaltenango, donde se encuentra la antigua ciudad maya de Iximche.
Una vez que lleguemos a Iximché, encontrarás las ruinas de la última ciudad maya. Iximché fue conquistada por los españoles cuando llegaron a tierras guatemaltecas y se convirtió en la primera ciudad española. Después de 3 años aquí, los españoles se mudaron a lo que ahora conocemos como Ciudad Vieja, cerca de Antigua Guatemala. Iximché fue una capital kaqchichel, una de las etnias mayas que aún existen en Guatemala en la actualidad. Los vestigios arquitectónicos que vemos hoy son los restos de palacios, plazas y canchas de pelota mayas que en su tiempo fueron decoradas con colorido y fueron galas del reino. Gran parte de las estructuras fueron destruidas durante la conquista y las construcciones de roca fueron desmanteladas para utilizar sus piedras en las construcciones españolas de Tecpán. Después de nuestra maravillosa visita al yacimiento arqueológico de Iximche, nos dirigiremos a Tecpàn. Esta es una zona popular llena de maravillosos restaurantes con décadas de existencia y los platos más deliciosos. Nos complace llevarlo a uno de estos reconocidos restaurantes para disfrutar de un delicioso almuerzo.

As we were heading to meet our tour guides my phone gsp gave out on me. We drove around for almost 2 hrs trying to find our meeting location and to our grateful surprise our guides patiently waited for us! Our driver was so wonderful! Not like most Guatemala drivers he spared my anxiety while cruising along:) Our other guide, Ruben EXCELLED in knowledge of not only the historical facts of the Mayan culture but his knowledge of Guatemala culture was mind blowing!! After our tour we stopped at one of the most wonderful restaurants recommended by our guides! As you can see in my pictures we were able to observe while the employees made hand patted tortillas, which were amazing, as well as live music, while we enjoyed our lunch. These two are by far the ones you want to choose to take you on a safe and informative tour!! 100/10

Ruben was an amazing guide. Very knowledgeable about the history of Iximche. My boyfriend and I really enjoyed learning about the Mayan gods and he even quizzed us a little afterwards to make sure we remember. Haha. A lot of laughs. Good time overall. Pedro was a great driver and got us there and back safely. I would book these guys over and over again

Amazing tour, Carlos was very knowledgeable and explain in detail the history of the ruins and its surroundings. Charlie our driver also was great. They both spoke about Guatemala's history. The experience has been one the best i have ever had traveling. The food was great at Chichoy restaurant delicious food. I give this tour 5 stars. Highly recommended.
