Laurence, our tour guide, curated an amazing day for us.We started at Salisbury Cathedral, went on to Old Sarum and Avebury and finished at Stonehenge. All the while Laurence gave us historical highlights and even turned off the road to show us little known sights. To top it off we had beautiful weather! We highly recommend seeing the Salisbury area this way!
Absolutely amazing afternoon with Laurence. He was incredibly knowledgeable and such a joy to spend the day with. Will absolutely book with him again.
Laurence was a fantastic guide! He quickly responded to pre-tour questions and picked us up on time. He got us to Stonehenge early to avoid the crowds. At both Salisbury Cathedral and Avebury, he gave us free time to explore while he went to fetch the car. Little things like that can make a big difference. When he found out we had Harry Potter fans in the group, he made sure to take us to some of the filming locations in Lacock on the drive back to our hotel. He was incredibly knowledgeable about all the sites. He has even participated in some of the excavations. Make sure to ask him about his other job in the music industry. Highly recommend this tour!
Our guide Kerry was absolutely the best. Her knowledge of the Stonehenge world heritage sites was deep and went well beyond the common places. Her passion was contagious. She listen to what we wanted tailored the day to meet our needs and showed us things we had never seen before. It was spectacular. I highly recommend this tour for anyone who's interested in Avebury and Stonehenge. She even helped us arrange the next day. She found out that the Salisbury cathedral was closing at 1:00 for musical concert and made excellent recommendations of where we could eat.
Wonderful full day seeing the Neolithic and Bronze Age sites in Avebury and Stonehenge with Laurence! We so appreciated being the beneficiary of his knowledge and passion for these sites. He worked with us to figure out the logistics and pacing for a great day visiting Avebury and Stonehenge as well as smaller sites off the main tours. We learned so much about these sites, the geology of the region, and the ongoing work to discover more.
The day was amazing. We went with a full day tour and our eyes were opened to more than just Stonehenge; we drove all over the surrounding area, and saw rock formations at sites all along the countryside. The tour provided lots of historical information, and our guide was well prepared. We saw much of the countryside, and of course, the star of the show, Stonehenge. We came from the US and saw so much more through this private tour than we could have with a public tour. Highly recommend.
When a tour is taken, it’s really the Tour Guide that makes it really memorable…That is what we experienced with Laurence at Bespoke …Very Knowledgeable about so many details that just painted a picture of the history and mystery of the Stonehenge Avebury and Salisbury tour we enjoyed with him…A truly unique person we were lucky to have met!
Spending the day in the Stonehenge / Avebury area with Laurence was the best experience possible. Laurence provided excellent information helping us arrange travel to meet in Salisbury. We went a day ahead of our guided tour so we could visit the Salisbury Cathedral. Spent the evening at the historic Chapter House and Laurence picked us up from the hotel to begin our tour day fully rested. If visitng from London - this is the way... travel a day early and explore Salisbury. We had already generated questions from our sightseeing in Salisbury so we had plenty of immediate conversation on our way to the first stop, Stonehenge. Laurence provided excellent information about all the sites we visited, answered the many questions we had, and made a small adjustment on the fly based on our timing. We were able to visit the village of Lacock and tour the Lacock Abbey... not on our original agenda, but we're so glad we had the time! Laurence is a very personable guide, and he has plenty of information to share about the area. Our family could not have been happier, and everyone in my family said that this tour was the highlight of our London trip!
Our guide, Laurence Davies ,did a fantastic job on the tour. He grew up in the area and was very knowledgeable. Laurence went out of his way to make it a great experience for our family of six.
Laurence is very knowledgeable, he explains things very well and is flexible with the itinerary. We so enjoyed walking up to the West Kennet Long Barrow. Would book with him again anytime. It was the most special day of our entire trip.
