The visit was amazing! Dominique is an excellent guide. A museum is tough with a 6 year old rambunctious boy and a 4 year old, but Dominique managed to make it super interesting, and she was able to gauge the time correctly (the 4yo lasted about 1.5 hours, which worked perfectly). She was also willing to bend way down, since my kids liked to sit on the floor. So much better than if we had tried to take the kids ourself.
Dominique was quite knowledgeable and definitely knew her way around the museum. She actively spoke with my 9 year old to keep her engaged and comparing art pieces to ones she may have learned about in art class. However, while she was very nice and answered all of our questions, I wouldn’t say that this was a tour specifically geared toward children/families. The tour did not include any kind of engaging activities for the kids - by contrast, we did a family tour of the Louvre with a different guide and it involved activities to get the kids integrally involved in interpreting the art/trying to recreate it w things like pencils and playdough, “hidden images” searches in the art pieces, etc. That was what I was hoping for with this “family tour,” as well, but it was not. Additionally, the 2-hour tour felt like we were rushed in every room and we really only got to see some highlights of the museum. A longer, more interactive tour would have felt more impactful as I try to raise art loving children.
Good tour, knowledgable guide - appreciated learning the art and the history it was a little old for my 7 year old but good for older kids.
A great museum experience for our kids ages 9 and 5. When we met Agathe outside the museum, the entry was teeming with people - a perfect storm of French school vacations and the Louvre being closed on Tuesdays. Ticket holders were waiting two hours to get in, but Agathe whisked us past the line and into the museum. Agathe’s magic was that she presented us with a storyline that was easy for our kids to relate to: these artists were rule-breakers! She introduced us to the “rules” that artists of the time were expected to follow, then helped the kids identify ways in which impressionist artists broke those rules. I actually think our 9-year-old will remember what she learned! Agathe was gentle, patient and understanding of the fluctuations in our kids’ energy and attention levels after a long day in Paris. Her English is impeccable.
Wonderful tour! We learned so much and our guides passion and knowledge was impressive. The kids were even engaged the whole time. Definitely recommend!
Great way to skip the line and see the Orsay in two hours. We’re able to stay on own after tour to revisit or explore other areas. Guide was very knowledgeable and patient with kids.
Our tour guide Paloma was very knowledgeable about arts and she had true passion for arts, which made a whole difference for us. We learned a lot from her. Without Paloma, the entire art collection would have meant nothing nearly as profound as this. Our 7 year old son truly fully engaged for the whole time and he probably learned more than all of us. Truly worth the money!
We had the pleasure of touring the Musee D'Orsay with Paloma and our three children (ages 7,5,and 4). It was one of the best decisions we made. Skipping the line was fantastic because the kids weren't already tired at the start of the tour. Paloma was very engaging with the children and they loved hearing all of the myths and stories to accompany the sculptures and paintings they saw. The pace and timing was perfect and not overwhelming but I still felt like they got a goo appreciation and understanding of the major works. They have started calling their little brother Ugolino after one of the stories they particularly liked. It was also interesting for the adults too. Would highly recommend Paloma and this service if you are travelling with young kids and hoping to expose them to some of the culture of Paris without feeling frustrated. Well worth the extra money!!
Valeria was incredible. Super child oriented and accomodating. My family and I had wonderful visit. Although my kids were tired, she managed to grasp their atention. Fully recommended.
