Great introduction to the museum and some of the key artists. Pauline was a lovely guide, very good with children.
Emma, the guide, was truly incredible -- especially if you have kids. Our girls were hot, tired, jet-lagged and so prime candidates to not want to pay attention -- and she had them entranced as she talked about the cultural antecedents of 19th century French art, the revolution of it, explained in a way a 4 and 7 year old understood. Then she took them through the museum and they were paying attention to all of it. Later that night, I asked our seven year old the difference between Manet and Monet. Manet liked to paint with black ... ... And Monet loved vibrant colors, she said. Best money we spent in Paris. Worth every penny.
Thank you so much for this beautiful review! We’re absolutely thrilled to hear that your experience at the Orsay Museum was such a memorable part of your time in Paris. That Manet vs. Monet moment is just priceless – what a perfect summary! It means the world to us to know the tour made such an impact. We hope to welcome you and your family again on another adventure soon! Warm wishes from all of us!
Not only was Rosana an expert on the d’Orsay museum, but she did a fantastic job keeping our 10-year old daughter engaged. Rosana has written her own child friendly guidebooks that she uses to keep the our interesting for kids. Highly recommend!
Helene was a fantastic guide! My kids (ages 12 and 13) really enjoyed it and we learned so much! She kept us all engaged and she knew so much about each piece of art.
This was an amazing experience for our whole family! Agathe was great with our eight year old son and was able to keep both adults involved as well. Highly recommend this tour! Well worth the money.
I did this tour with my 9 year old daughter and we loved every minute. Our guide catered the entire 2 hours to my daughter and allowed her to explore and point out what was interesting to her so it felt like a truly customized experience. We learned so much and the 2 hours flew by. Highly recommend this tour if you have kids and want them to experience the art without being bored!
Cindy was very nice and knowledgeable- she talked a lot but I wish she had focused more on observations about the paintings and explained them to my daughter instead of talking generally about the time period or artist. In general I would recommend but keeping in mind that for a child it is easier to relate to what is in front of you.
Paloma gave us a terrific tour. She explained the technique, the beauty, the historical context, and the critical reception of the artwork in a way that was engaging for adults as well as my children (ages 5 & 10). After the tour, we walked back past a number of items and my daughters were able to recount many aspects that Paloma taught them.
Learning about the artists and various important artwork. The history and information was excellently presented at a great level for my 10 year old (and me too).
Major props to our tour guide. Our 11 yo son was not feeling another museum tour that morning (we had just done the Louvre the day before and had already been traveling for a week). She was kind, engaging and so informative. She eventually won him over at the Opera House display and he is still talking about it! We were really pleased with the kid-focused tour and although my husband and I had been before, we left with so much more insight!
