Itinerario

Entrada incluida90 min

A Great Way To Spend An Afternoon

Cecile was a great guide with lots of fun stories . It was really nice being able to tour the Hamlet. It was so hot but Cecile did such a good job keeping us entertained. I would definitely recommend this tour.

Respuesta del operador

Thank you Raegan! The Hamlet is such a special and often overlooked part of the Versailles estate — the stories around Marie-Antoinette's little retreat are absolutely fascinating and Cécile loves bringing them to life. We're so glad she kept the day so enjoyable despite the heat! We really appreciate the recommendation. She'll be delighted to hear this.

Tour in Versailles, Petit Trianon

You should be good on foot and not limited in your mobility. The historical connections are well explained.

Respuesta del operador

Vielen Dank, Ute. It is true that Versailles can be daunting - at the very least- for those with mobility issues and we are glad you mention it. We are so glad you enjoyed our historical context for understanding the Marie Antoinette domain - we love sharing it!

Get to the meet up place...

Get to the meet up place early. The guide was enthusiastic. I would have liked more information on the plants.

Respuesta del operador

Hello Kristina- We’re so glad you enjoyed your guide’s enthusiasm – please do not hesitate to ask any questions of us, as Memories guides are hand-picked for their wealth of expertise in the heart-stopping events that happened there, the breathtaking art, delightful architecture and the utter charm of the gardens, in their untamed English style that heralds the Romantic movement to come. Since there is simply so very much to show you, just an abundance of beautiful and fascinating sights and sites (So much to see! So much to learn!), we particularly love questions as it helps us to not only make the difficult choices in what to share but also in so doing to better tailor the tour to you and your group. Thank you for the heads up to other visitors. On the instruction pamphlet we do ask that our guests arrive fifteen minutes early in case of any mishap with our customer service ready to help anyone encountering issues of whatever sort. Thank you for the fabulous five stars!

Great!

Great small group tour to a hidden part of Versailles. Learn about marie antoinette and much more...

Respuesta del operador

Marie Antoinette's domain feels much as it did when she built it to get away from the suffocating splendor of the royal palace itself. At Memories we love showing you this charming hideaway and all its private delights, but more than that the context that makes it all come together in meaning. Thanks so much for joining us, Joel!

Tour was just ok

This tour has a lot of walking. Tour guide was a great young lady but I did not learn anything new not sure if it was her or there isn’t much to tell. Just FYI we had a behind the scenes private area tour in the morning (which I highly recommend) then this tour in the afternoon. Make sure you have garden access in your itinerary as the walk from the front to the back without it is miles! The ticket states this but my morning tour company stated we had garden access. This was not recognized by staff so the Versailles staff gave us a map out and around to the Queens gate which looks close on a map (not to scale) like doing a 5k. I state this because that combined with all the other walking is a lot 22000 steps that day! I have taken many Viator tours and this was my least favorite. (Maybe I was tired and maybe the tour guide was not seasoned enough yet). Viator was not in any way responsible for my experience so far I have had all great experiences with them

Dear Kevin We are so sorry to read this: Ideally the Marie Antoinette tour is taken after our morning Versailles tour, and usually that is how it unfolds. Our guests are recovering from the intense intake of information and visual overload of the King’s palace and grounds. The beauty of the Marie Antoinette domain is the peace, the break, from the principle palace, everything that the queen needed for herself in her day and both created and had created, that is still with us to enjoy. A large part of its discreet charm is simply absorbing its tranquility, its serenity as compared to the overblown bling and constant visual stimulation of Versailles proper. We do of course supply the commentary and interpretation that makes it come alive again, but if you ever want to dig deeper, a Memories guide can always do that for you – just do our favorite thing and ask questions, and follow up questions too! We love to be able to enthuse about one of our favorite places on earth and just want to make sure we’re correctly gauging the interest of our guests, without disturbing what is an integral part of the Marie Antoinette Domain experience, the sense of a secret, quiet hideaway from the busy-ness of the King’s palace. Our morning tour of the King’s palace and grounds connects nicely through the gardens to bring you to the Queen’s domain without overly adding to the distance. As your morning tour was with another company, we sadly have no control over that aspect your disappointment Yet, while there is much walking, there is no place in the world that compares to what you are taking in while you do so, so much history, beauty, art, architecture, gardens and the riveting events of times past still echoing there, all of which a Memories guide evokes and breathes life back into, just for you. We do hope the rest of your stay in Paris is all that you might wish it to be and thank you for your review.

you can probably do this...

you can probably do this tour on your own w/the audio-guide - and go at your own pace - otherwise it was a very nice tour guide :)

Respuesta del operador

We are so glad you enjoyed your guided experience as offered by Memories, but we beg to differ - we offer a human understanding and connexion, as well as humor and the ability to answer any kind of question - not to speak of navigating the crowds. The audioguides skim the surface, if that is what you want, a rote and superficial repetition of facts in a recording - we, on the other hand, make it all come alive and make sense. Thank you for your comments and for the five stars.

A Delightful Queen's Hamlet and Trianon Afternoon Tour

We really enjoyed our afternoon tour! Our tour guide was very knowledgeable about Marie Antoinette, royal life, and had very interesting information to share. We weren't sure at first where to exactly meet our tour guide, but we got a follow up call from an agent and was able to find our guide at the correct meeting location. Thank you for the tour! We definitely recommend this Queen's Hamlet and Trianon afternoon tour to those who will be spending a whole day at Château de Versailles.

We just adore taking like minded souls around Antoinette-ville. It is pure charm and shows so much of the much maligned queen. And it gives us a chance to go deeper into the history than the half day tour - so it's always a pleasure, thank you. And we care enough to call to make sure that you get your bearings and are able to meet and join the fun. We so appreciate your glowing recommendation - thank you again!
