El Monumento al Genocidio de Kigali conmemora el genocidio de Ruanda de 1994. Allí están enterrados los restos de más de 250.000 personas. Hay un centro de visitantes para estudiantes y quienes deseen comprender los acontecimientos que llevaron al genocidio de 1994.
Indiba Arts Space, es un centro para artistas y amantes del arte, una galería y un taller. Los clientes conocerán a algunos de los mejores artistas contemporáneos de Kigali que lideran un nuevo movimiento para llevar el arte a la comunidad local y a los turistas.
Question Coffee Cafe es una cafetería de café de especialidad de última generación ubicada en Kigali.
El Centro de Mujeres de Nyamirambo (NWC), una ONG ruandesa, fue inaugurado a finales de 2007 por 18 mujeres ruandesas que vivían en Nyamirambo, Kigali. Juntos crearon un proyecto que tenía como objetivo abordar la violencia de género, la desigualdad de género y la discriminación. Hoy, la misión de NWC es brindar educación y capacitación vocacional a mujeres que no tienen los medios para pagar dicha capacitación por sí mismas, para que puedan obtener mejores oportunidades de empleo. A fines de 2013, NWC lanzó la línea de productos “Umutima”, que significa “corazón” en kinyarwanda. Con este proyecto, NWC capacita y emplea a mujeres de la comunidad para crear una gran variedad de accesorios para mujeres, ropa para niños y productos de decoración para el hogar. Actualmente hay más de 50 mujeres empleadas por Umutima como costureras. Umutima y NWC se han convertido en un modelo único y autosuficiente donde las ganancias obtenidas a través de Umutima se utilizan para financiar iniciativas de NWC, además de brindar beneficios y un salario justo a las costureras.

The visit was fantastic and very friendly. My guide Mathieu made the moment very special and inspiring. We had time to discuss about the culture, the people, the architecture and the history of Kigali. I'll definitely come back.
Great experience! I loved this was a half day tour and it was private. My guide, Junior, was a joy to get to know. He gave me some good info and took me to the places I was most interested in with the short amount of time I had. The genocide memorial was very emotional, which I knew it would be, but I'm glad I went. I also loved the coffee stop, what a cute coffee shop! The NGO stop was nice as well, but there was no demonstration as the girls were not in school that day. But I don't mind shopping and it was good to get a few gifts there. Definitely recommend this tour!
Oscar our tour guide was excellent in every way. He is a professional who takes his job seriously. He made sure we saw all the interesting sites, including the national genocide museum, an art gallery, the city market and Mt. Kigali. Jamal was excellent. He gave perfect tour of his country. He is very knowledgeable and spoke great English. He even offer to wait at restaurant to drop us at hotel.
We highly recommend touring Kigali Rwanda before heading to your gorilla trek. Our tour guide/driver Denis (with one "n") taught us so much about Rwandan history up to present that we are interested in learning more. We started with Denis in Kigali and had 3 days with him between there and the Volcanoes area/gorilla trekking and returning to the Kigali airport. Denis is safe AND dependable and someone you should hire.
Eugene our guide and driver was thoughtful and accommodating with water bottles. He made us feel safe the whole time!
What a fun day! This tour was totally customizable, so in addition to visiting the main market, an arts coop and coffee shop, we were able to add a stops at a local "milk bar" as well as the Hotel des Mille Collines, the property featured in the movie Hotel Rwanda. Our guide was very knowledgeable about the city and taught us a lot. We would definitely recommend this tour!
