No show tour guide

The private tour guide did not show. We waited at the entrance of the museum from 15 before our scheduled time, as directed, then waited another 20 minutes after the designated start of the tour. I repeatedly called the number provided, which went straight to voicemail. No one called back. I requested a refund, and immediately received an email saying that the refund was being processed. There was no apology given. Disappointing and delayed our day.

Exceptional Experience

Nona provided an exceptional experience at the National Museum of African American History and Culture. Nona's extensive knowledge of African American history brought the exhibits to life, offering valuable context and insights throughout our visit. Nona's expertise was particularly evident in their ability to address our numerous questions with depth and clarity. Nona's responses enriched our understanding of the artifacts, events, and cultural significance presented in the museum. The tour was both informative and engaging, leaving us with a deeper appreciation of our contributions to U.S. history and culture. For those seeking a more comprehensive museum experience, we highly recommend booking a guided tour. Overall, Nona's passion and expertise significantly enhanced our visit, making it a truly memorable and educational experience.

Learning your African American History

Nur Ali was very nice and knowledgeable in the history of the African American History Museum. There were so many things that we had questions about, and Nur answered all of them. We enjoyed the tour, and if you need a tour guide, we recommend Nur. Great person.

Horrible, misleading

This tour was misleading!!! I paid $350 dollars and the tour guide wasn’t very informative and withheld more personal conversations. I called and spoke to someone about this tour before I paid and I was informed I was meeting up and being transported to all the monuments listed 20 mins each and end at the African Museum for a hour for a tour inside however that did not happen whatsoever. My sons and I otherwise was forced to walk in 90 degree weather only to see two monuments the White House and the Washington Monument. I was told I would receive an $250 dollar refund in regards to this from Nar and Michael by this week. I’m very upset about this tour very disappointed and mislead. This almost ruined my vacation with my kids

Wonderful Tour with Nur

Our group of 8 family members from Los Angeles and Maryland, took a private tour of the wonderful Washington DC African American Museum of History and Culture on June 30, 2023. Our guide, Nur, was delightful! He arrived right on time, was friendly and down to earth, and knew the Museum and African American history backward and forwards. He had a clear agenda in mind to give us a rich experience in a limited time. Nur was sensitive to the fact that we had 12 year-olds in the group and made sure in advance that it was fine with their parents for him to discuss certain sensitive matters, In addition to being very knowledgeable, Nur was very funny and accommodating to everyone's needs. I highly recommend him as a guide.

Too difficult to locate tour guide

We showed up two minutes late instead of 15 minutes early due to getting lost, could not locate our tour guide in front, could not get help or suggestions from museum employees, employees acted as if they could not be bothered even at the welcome desk, after figuring out how to scan and load our own free tickets and waiting in line to get in, then noticed there was two entrances, went back outside to look for tour guide on that “front”. Then tried to call Viator, no option # fit our situation, no person to talk to, but noticed a call on my phone at that time that went to voice messages due to spam blocker, called back, received message the phone was currently unavailable. Gave up and went inside to tour by ourselves. Tried the number again after using the restroom inside, now being 30 minutes later, tour guide answered said she was already home stating she only had to wait until 10 minutes after scheduled time. I asked how we were suppose to find her and her response was she called and texted me. She had a couple minutes before we arrived, but I was rushing to get there, not checking my text messages. I was looking around expecting to see a sign, hat or T-shirt to alert me…the old fashion way to find your tour group.
