Pompeya es sin duda el sitio arqueológico más importante del mundo. Toda una ciudad perfectamente conservada tal y como estaba en el año 79 d.C., cuando una tremenda erupción del volcán cercano Monte Vesubio la enterró bajo una profunda capa de cenizas y lapilli. Pompeya es muy diferente a cualquier otro sitio arqueológico del mundo. Hay ruinas antiguas en Roma, Grecia, Egipto, América Central y otros lugares maravillosos del planeta, pero en ninguno de ellos, a excepción de Pompeya, todavía puedes caminar por las antiguas calles originales y encontrarlas tan animadas como lo eran entonces. Puedes caminar en las mismas casas en las que vivía la gente, en los mismos templos en los que rezaban y estar en los mismos lugares en los que trabajaban y se divertían. Incluso puedes ver las huellas de sus carruajes en la superficie de la carretera; las cañerías por las que corría el agua potable; y por último pero no menos importante, los cuerpos “petrificados” de las víctimas de la erupción.

Visitaremos los edificios públicos más importantes (teatros, templos, baños termales y más) y llamaremos su atención sobre algunas de las tiendas romanas más tradicionales como el thermopolia, antepasado de los modernos restaurantes de comida rápida, y el pistrinum, el equivalente romano de una panadería. La ciudad de Pompeya también es muy conocida por la magnificencia de sus residencias, cuyos nombres son famosos en todo el mundo: la Casa de Menandro, la Casa del Fauno, la Casa de los Vettii, la Casa de Cecilio Iucundus y muchos más. Estaremos en algunas de esas fantásticas viviendas y también caminaremos por "Via dell'Abbondanza" (la calle principal), el Foro (la plaza principal del pueblo) y el famoso "barrio rojo" y sus sugerentes pinturas murales. Por último, se pondrá especial atención en las pobres víctimas de la erupción, que aparecen como cuerpos petrificados.

Having booked previously we booked the POMPEII trip and once again received a fantastic tour with Francesco, a different tour guide, but again a fantastic overview of the POMPEII site and the Vesuvius eruption. Personally for me the small group tour or in this case we were lucky to have a private tour is essential, the knowledge and more importantly where to go is a must have - the site is massive and technically you could wander around looking at a load of "old bricks" and get lost - the guided tour therefore a must IMO and with this tour company you will get an excellent tour of the sites.

It was a bit disappointed that the tour operator texted me 2 days before the tour predict no other participants for our tour and advised us to switch to a private tour with another additional payment of $60. Including requirement to buy our own entry truckers, it costed us much more than planned to visited the attraction “Pompeii Ruins”.
Dear visitor, it’s specified in the tour description that the tour is canceled if the minimum number of participants has not been met as well as it specified that the entry tickets are not included. We texted you only 2 days before the tour to wait as much as possible for new bookings, and we believe that 2 days are long enough to let you arrange the tour with a different tour operator if our tour is canceled. Moreover, we proposed a solution and you accepted, a full refund would have been much easier and cheaper for us and, honestly, it's now sad to hear that this solution didn't make you happy. We apologize if you don't consider your experience with us worthy of a 5-star review, but we are sure it’s due to misunderstanding.
Francesco did a wonderful job. He made an amazing place even more interesting with his explanations of the sights. He had an informed answer for every question we had. Not to mention, he gave us great advice about other places to visit in the area. I will choose his services every time I bring a group to the area.
