Nice tour, not too long, small group and nice guide. Besides, you shouldn't queue. That saves a lot of time, too.
Tour guide was very knowledgeable. Get the early tour, less people. The place was packed in the afternoon.
It's worth it. I wish this for everyone, and with the family, it's the best.
Great guide, very knowledgeable
Great tour, Sergio's scenic handling was too good to achieve the best locations for his explanations, we loved it!
We took a private group tour of Versailles oriented toward young children. We were contacted by the tour operator who confirmed date and time of tour and meeting place. Our guide. Nazli met us promptly. Nazli spoken impeccable English and had a deep knowledge base about Versailles Palace, French history, artists, and art history. The 18 month old understandably did not absorb much from the tour, but Nazli made sure we had the easiest path for the stroller and elevator access. Nazli was outstanding with the. 4-10 yr olds—making sure that they had “front row seats“ to see each room, provided interesting history of each room, and it’s occupants, explained the function of various rooms/objects. In every area Nazli would ask them what they had questions about or were interested in knowing. Nazli would provide age-appropriate, humorous and knowledgeable answers to their questions. The children were very at ease and happy with our guide. Each child also received a a little activity workbook which they enjoyed. Nazli also interacted very well with all the adults in the group. Excellent tour guide and tour. Although our children were young they were very engaged during the tour and I suspect we’ll have fond memories and deeper understanding of Versailles.
I am very angry about the way they left me and my children out; on top of the fact that the guide was in English and I accepted, they left me without tickets because they did not wait for me, and on top of that I had already paid for everything, which was not exactly cheap, anyway... they blocked my phone and I could not contact the guide, and they gave me a meeting point that was not the right one. I think it is reportable, and if they do not reimburse me, I am going to file a complaint for abuse and mistreatment of me and my family... I was with my young children, and if it is necessary to report it and play hardball, I will go after these people who have no empathy.
This is a great way to get the most out of the experience. Eric provided historical context and humor which made the tour even more meaningful. Would definitely recommend to everyone!
Eric was an amazing tour guide. He was very knowledgeable and very funny. We really enjoyed learning about Versailles.
We visited during France's heatwave, so the only negatives were that it was very hot and very crowded although this was to be expected. The tour goes by fast and it gives a good basic overview of some of the major players in Versailles leading up to the French Revolution. If you know nothing about French history leading up to the revolution or Versailles under King Louis XIV then this is a great tour to get a basic understanding. If you are a history buff and know a lot about Versailles and French history you may want to look into a full day tour as this tour only had time to give a general overview and wasn't able to get into a lot of details.
