El Patio de la Piña de los Museos Vaticanos. Si nunca has estado en los Museos Vaticanos, considera no solo la Capilla Sixtina sino también otros espacios, como el Patio de la Piña. Es una de las primeras paradas que harás en tu visita, un gran espacio diáfano de 300 metros cuadrados contiguo a los pasillos y salas del museo. Si hace buen tiempo, disfrute tranquilamente de toda la extensión del patio y preste atención a las diversas obras de arte que se encuentran aquí.
Encargado por los papas Clemente XIV (1769-1774) y Pío VI (1775-1799), este museo estaba destinado a albergar obras maestras griegas y romanas del Vaticano. En el centro del museo se encuentra el patio octogonal con las estatuas más famosas: el Apolo del Belvedere, una copia romana del siglo II d.C. del original griego en bronce, ubicado en el Ágora de Atenas, el famoso grupo de Laocoonte, un siglo I d.C. Copia romana, Perseo con la cabeza de Medusa, de Canova (principios del siglo XIX), el Hermes Pío-Clementino, copia de un siglo IV a.C. estatua griega.
Una de las partes más bellas e impresionantes de los Museos Vaticanos es sin duda el largo corredor, de 120 metros de largo y seis metros de ancho, que conduce a la Capilla Sixtina adornada con mapas. La Galería de los Mapas, encargada por el Papa Gregorio XIII, fue creada entre 1580 y 1585. Los frescos fueron pintados por artistas italianos y flamencos bajo la dirección de Ignazio Danti, matemático, astrónomo y cosmógrafo. Las paredes de la galería están cubiertas con cuarenta mapas de las distintas regiones italianas, con mapas de las principales ciudades. En el techo contiguo a cada región se encuentran representaciones de los principales eventos religiosos que allí tuvieron lugar.
La Capilla Sixtina se encuentra dentro de los Museos Vaticanos en Roma y es visitada por millones de turistas de todo el mundo cada año. If you go in the heat of the summer, take water, expect very large crowds (in the thousands), and dress appropriately. It was amazing to see art that was centuries old. You definitely need a guide to maneuver through the museum.
Not as all as described Missed so many things Most of the tour was spent standing outside in the hot sun. Save your money and find a better tour company or do on your own. This was a big waste of money Extremely disappointed !!!!

The itinerary is clearly described at the time of booking and includes the main galleries of the Vatican Museums, the Sistine Chapel, and direct access to St. Peter's Basilica. The tour was conducted exactly as advertised. If your expectation was to see a larger portion of the museums or spend more time in specific areas, we recommend booking a private, tailor-made tour for your next visit, as this is the only option that allows for a customized itinerary and a more comprehensive visit.

The smoothest way to experience Sicstine Chappel and St. Pieter's Basilika saving hours of queuing. The guide told interesting things about the attractions, but not too much, taking into account that it was very hot and there was a lot of walking. Overall very good guide and organization.

Directions to the start were very poor. Once we actually got there, each person we tried to speak with was disorganized, unhelpful and rude. We were told to be 15 minutes early, but couldn’t even confirm we were in the right place until 5 minutes after the scheduled start. Although the venues themselves are too overcrowded to really be appreciated, our guide did as well as anyone could hope. She was the only bright spot on this tour.
