Andrea was an outstanding guide and gave us one of the best museum tours we’ve ever had. What really set her apart was how she connected everything we saw—paintings, photographs, and installations—into a few clear, powerful themes, all grounded in the historical moment they came from. She didn’t just explain individual works; she helped us understand how they spoke to each other and to the political and social realities of Spain and Europe at the time. Seeing the art through that lens completely changed how we experienced the Reina Sofía, especially around Guernica and the surrounding works. Andrea is incredibly knowledgeable but also engaging and easy to follow. The tour felt thoughtful, cohesive, and genuinely memorable. We walked away with a much deeper appreciation for the museum and its collection. Highly recommend—this was a truly exceptional tour.
As with all the Babylon guides we encountered in Madrid, Andrea was a pleasure to tour with. We especially appreciated her insights into the societal context of various pieces and her deep dive into how 'Guernica' came into being. Highly recommended.
Ana Muñoz our guide was extremely knowledgeable, friendly, helpful, and we truly enjoyed her company. She contacted us ahead of our tour and sent us her location so we knew exactly where to meet her. The visit was filled with chronological history, facts, good conversation, and context of the main master pieces in the museum.
Our guide was exceptionally well prepared to give a wonderful tour of this remarkable museum. We started in the gardens to better understand the building itself, then took a deep dive into the transformation of prominent Spanish artists in the first half of the 20th Century. From Dali and Miro to Picasso, Santos and many others, we learned how and why their work evolved, and how the politics of the time influenced their work. Our tour culminated with the Guernica - a work so complex and wonderful we appreciated the skillful explanation of Almudena, our guide.
Absolutely wonderful tour. Jaime was excellent. He was courteous, polite, engaging, and had tremendous knowledge of the museum and all the pieces. Top notch experience.
Jaime was a wonderful guide. Knowledgeable, courteous, very well informed, and just a nice guy. Great job! Thank you
Jose, our guide in the Reina Sofia museum took us on a journey of art and history of Spain through magnificent pieces of art presented in the Reina Sofia museum. A truly amazing experience and highly recommended.
Beatrice gave a most excellent tour. She is very well educated, and gave us very useful background information to understand the paintings and sculptures we saw. She was also very kind to people who walked slow and to one participant, who was a bit difficult. At the end of the tour she showed me how to use the subway and where to go to my next destination. all of this was above and beyond what I expected. I would be very happy to book this tour or another tour with Beatrice again.
Educated, enthusiastic, flexible guide. Great stories of the artists family life and its effects on their art.
We had James as our tour guide . He was prompt and extremely knowledgeable about the history of the museum . He explained in detail each painting and the history of each artist . Made such a difference
