This was a horrible experience. The day we booked had free entry into the Coliseum. The tour should have told us that when we booked, but they did not and charged us full fare. The tour offered us a partial refund for the entry fee. We went to the exact meeting place at the right time. There were many tours meeting there, but we couldn’t find ours. Four of us looked endlessly. The lines were so long that we missed seeing the most iconic artifact in Rome. The tour company refused to compensate us in any way. This was a once in a lifetime trip for us and we left very sad and disappointed.
They sold us a tour on a day that tours are not allowed. We were offered a full or partial refund. If we met them there at 8:15, we would have to wait in line with everyone else, but get the tour guide’s input. We were there on time and asked every tour guide at the meeting place. None of them had our name. This was the option for a partial refund. We were so disappointed as we missed one of the most historic and important sites in Rome. We received a small refund, but requested a full refund twice and never got a reply. According to the Coliseum, it is free the first Sunday of every month, without tours. Certainly, the company should have known this and not sold us a tour on that day. This was our once in a lifetime trip to Rome and this tour ruined it for us. Find a company that actually knows when tours are allowed. To the tour company, I say, shame on you.
From the colosseum of course visited the forum romanum and palantine. It's huge, grand and eoverwhelming. Luckily it was lovely to walk around here with a sun and 23 degrees. Too bad there's so little info. The sparse signs are barely readable and you must have a full-expirience ticket for the museums. I am quite visually inclined and would appreciate a drawing of how it was once. Now you walk from one mass of stones to another. There is no brochure or map available at the checkout. Just an audio tour.... but as someone who is visually inclined, that doesn't do me much good. Nevertheless, you must have just seen this!
OK, so I have to admit as 5 middle aged history buffs we were slightly sceptical... very large group, very young English man... and OMG were we wrong to be sceptical. Harry is AMAZING and impressed is not the word. This young man lives and breathes his history. He is way too knowledgeable for his age and has a real passion and boundless enthusiasm for Rome. Super impressed, super happy and so wanted to take him home with us!! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. We also did an evening walking tour and saw some amazing sights - as well as the 'popular' stuff, we saw things we would never have found on our own. GO HARRY... xxx
He's a Clean cut young and energetic - English speaking - tour guide. Top that off with being an excellent communicator!!! Ours was a group of 8, along with others. Although we enjoy hearing other nationalities accent's - with the crowds of people and noises in the city - it made it much easier to hear and understand the messages being delivered. Harry delivers an interesting perspective with plenty of facts. He's well prepared and knows his stuff. He moved along at a comfortable pace and made time to communicate one on one with everybody in the group. We all enjoyed his tour so much we connected with him later in the evening for a 6PM walking tour. That too was a great experience!!!
Our time in Rome was filled with tours of different monuments and ruins, and there was no better guide than Harry White! He filled us with knowledge about the Palentine Hill and Roman Forum. Easy to understand with a general joy about what he was telling you, made this tour the best we had in Rome. If we go back to Rome we will book our tours through Harry and his group! Ciao!
Went on tour today. The highlight of the day was the tour with Harry. Young man full of enthusiasm, made the trip very interesting. He is very passionate & informative about the history. Highly recommend 😁
If you’re wanting to do a tour in Rome with an English speaking guide, this is the place to go! My wife dragged me along to this tour, which prior to doing I really wasn’t too keen on.. but that changed pretty quickly as we got into it. Our guides name was Russ and he was an absolute champ. I could tell straight away that he has a genuine passion for what he does and has a deep knowledge of Roman history. Russ is not a typical boring guide.. he delivered the information in a really interesting and captivating way that had me legit engaged in the tour. He was also funny without being corny. On top of the way Russ delivered his tour, a big plus for me was that he is a native English speaker. I’ve done a lot of “English” speaking tours elsewhere with non native English speakers and they can be quite difficult to understand.. you end up becoming disengaged and disinterested.. which definitely wasn’t the case here. I felt Russ really went above and beyond; during the tour he took the time to take a photo for anyone who wanted, then after the tour he took he time to send be a bit of a hit list for the city with recommendations for site seeing, restaurants and bars. 10/10
Just been on this tour with Harry who is very knowledgeable about the history of Rome. Harry tells some great historical stories making the tour extreemely enjoyable and even brings some humour into it. It was great to skip the queues and go straight in and we were allowed time afterwards to wander round for as long as we wanted. I highly recommend this great value tour if you are visiting Rome!
Harry was very professional and engaging, with a wealth of knowledge. His tour was by far the best of the trip. He also gave insight on good nightlife and places to eat, which is an awesome bonus! Will definitely go on the walking tour if I end up in Rome again!
