Although you visit a zoo, the animals are placed in their natural context and this makes the place completely different from what we are sadly used to. Exceptional our guide, Mattia, because he knew how to win us over with his sympathy and his great professionalism, made us feel always at ease and was able to capture our attention for the duration of the visit guiding us with wisdom and attention. We went to the Ranua Wildlife Park with Tania, and this was honestly an amazing experience. She took the time to walk us through each exhibit and gave us so much insight about every animal, their habitats, where they can be found, and how they relate to Finland and the Arctic Circle. I’ve never had such an insightful and dedicated tour guide. Tania was clearly passionate about what she does and genuinely cared about sharing not just facts, but also the culture and history of the land with us. This isn’t your typical zoo visit. It felt meaningful, thoughtful, and personal. If you’re planning to visit Ranua, I highly recommend this experience. It’s something that really stays with you and gives you a deeper appreciation for both the animals and the region.
It was a great trip seeing the arctic animals with a very knowledgeable guide who freely shared interesting facts about the animals.
Everything was organized to perfection, from transport to the guided tour. Special thanks go to Mattia, our guide, who has proved extremely kind, professional and always attentive to our needs. With his passion and expertise, he guided us to the discovery of Arctic animals, telling us interesting curiosities and making the visit even more engaging and was extremely kind to our young son.
Brandon was an excellent knowledgeable guide giving the group facts about the country, flora and fauna aswell as being a safe driver.
This is not a guided tour. You get a map and you have to do it yourself. The guide person is no visible most of the time. The experience is in fact a little disappointing. But a lot of snow covered the park making the sights look very nice.
We had a tour with Jaco and Brandon. They were very informative and very friendly. They treated us like we were part of their family. We travelled from USA and they welcomed us with open arms. I definitely recommend this tour for everyone.
Enjoyed the entire trip. had never done tour with a guide. would recommend to anyone. Learning fun facts during the walk made seeing the animals more interesting. Learned a lot about Finland in general as well, which was nice.
This will remain as one of the memorable trips with family to the zoo. The main attraction of the zoo was Venus the Polar bear who seemed to be a really good mood the day of the visit. We had Tanya who was our guide tour and she was great an amazing guide and she explained so many information about the birds and animals in the zoo. A lot of discussions during the trip got to understand about finnish culture and history. Food in the park was also good. Visited the Candy store and picked up some liqourish chocolates.
Our son told us about Ranua and we are glad he did. A fantstic opportunity to see some truly unique Arctic animals living in their natural habitat. Having a fanastic tour guide named Tania made the experience even more memorable-she was very pleasant and knowledgeable in everything to do with the Zoo. This is a place well worth visiting
