El edificio diseñado por Santiago Calatrava cuenta con iniciativas de diseño sostenible, incorporando fuentes naturales de energía y luz, como el uso de paneles solares para suministrar energía al edificio y agua de la bahía para regular su temperatura interna. La exposición principal es creación del físico y cosmólogo Luiz Alberto Oliveira y lleva a los visitantes por cinco grandes áreas : Cosmos, Tierra, Antropoceno, Mañana y Ahora. El museo aborda temas como el crecimiento demográfico y el aumento de la esperanza de vida, los patrones de consumo, el cambio climático, la ingeniería genética y la bioética, la distribución de la riqueza, los avances tecnológicos y los cambios en la biodiversidad.

El Museo del Mañana se dedica a explorar las posibilidades de un futuro sostenible a través de artefactos interactivos que unen ciencia, arte, tecnología y cultura. Está ubicado en un magnífico edificio similar a una nave espacial que se convertirá en la pieza central de un proyecto de regeneración más grande del barrio de Porto Maravilha.

Our guide Renato is the best! He made sure we understand the museum and provided a background story.
This is a unique museum. Partly scientific, partly philosophical, partly poetic, it is appropriately called Museum of the Future, because it is capable of helping us raise our consciousness level via contemplation, hopefully leading to acts of co-creation. Hats off.
There are no words for all the sensations that the Museum generated, not only for its exhibition artist, it is from the reception of the same building.
It is a very modern and thematic tomorrow inspired museum, it is in a place on the shores of Guanabara Bay with a beautiful view and admission is cheap.
Beautiful place, temporary exhibition on the dream and permanent exhibition on the human era since its appearance on this planet... Beautiful boat-shaped place facing Rio Bay. Have a good time, about 3 hours of visiting. There is a typical Amazonian restaurant at the end of the museum very nice but we did not go there...

Loved this museum! The tour guide was wonderful, taking us to see other things but the star here was the museum- would love to go back because there are so many things to experience - and we were in there for 2 hours!
