El museo se estableció en el antiguo edificio de la KGB, donde se planearon y ejecutaron los crímenes del régimen soviético durante cincuenta años. Los visitantes pueden visitar: la antigua prisión de la KGB, los locales donde se ejecutaron las condenas a muerte, exposiciones modernas que relatan la pérdida de la independencia a mediados del siglo XX, las represiones de las autoridades soviéticas y la lucha abnegada y persistente por la independencia. Caminaremos por la antigua prisión donde se mantenía y torturaba a los presos políticos. Verá dónde y cómo fueron asesinados. Una cámara de 19 está dedicada al Holocausto judío, porque de 1941 a 1944 el edificio fue utilizado como sede de la Gestapo alemana y SD y una prisión, cuartel del Sonderkommando de la ciudad de Vilnius, que mató a judíos y otros. En septiembre de 2018, el Papa Francisco terminó su visita a Lituania en el museo de la KGB y oró por las víctimas del régimen soviético en Lituania. El precio de las entradas 6EUR no está incluido en el precio del tour.

Reminded me of the struggles for Lithuanian independence which has made them vigilant in protecting their dignity and culture. There is a strong sense of pride and conservatism in Vilnius, an atmosphere of strength and resilience.
Perfect, wonderful, 100% real, mostly because the KGB conducted its operations in this very building, with the cells in the basement. An essential visit if you visit Vilnius

I recommend this visit, which is necessary, which allows us to know more about this part of history. The signs are well made. Nevertheless, the welcome of professionals is not pleasant...
We had a very good and informative guiding,- our guide Dorma had very good knowledge about everything at the museum and the history of Lithuania. We spent nearly two hours together and this was really excellent!!.
If you are in Vilnius carve out an hour to visit this museum which is semi-centrally located in a beautiful building just behind Gedimino prospekt. You will see the cells used to imprison Lithuanian patriots, the execution room, maps and period documents as well as very detailed historical descriptions. 6 euros well spent Visited Sunday, 20 October 2024 morning
immersive visit to the time of the KGB (small part on the Nazi occupation), we wander through the dungeons etc... very impressive.
We had a wonderful guided tour with Lukas in Vilnius. He knows his history and arranged most things for us. Very positive and nice guy. Highly recommended 😊
Excellent tour. I highly recommend. Fascinating content and history telling. Lucas was very passionate and knowledgeable, which made his explanations about the awful history of KGB very fascinating. Both myself and my daughter really enjoyed it. 5 stars!
Extensive material that depicts life during the Russian occupation, the road to liberation of Lithuania and the horrors of deportation. The KGB prison is very moving and definitely not for the faint hearted
