It was the highlight of my trip to Sydney so far. Marcus was a passionate tour guide and ensured we had fun and learned a lot about the history of the opera house. It was wonderful.

Rebecca is as such an amazing charismatic informative guide. She showed us around very exclusive areas. Once in a lifetime experience.

We really enjoyed this tour of the opera house, which took us to parts of the building that we wouldn’t ordinarily be able to see. Michael provided very interesting historical information and insight into the workings of theatrical productions. He was also very thoughtful in answering every question that was asked during the tour.

Oh. My. Gosh! If you have ever wanted a behind the scenes look at how a theater venue makes the magic happen’, THIS is the tour for you! Rebecca our guide met us at the Stage Door. After checking us in and issuing us visitors ID and ID vests, we began our exploration from the ‘bottom’ up. Sydney Opera house is a magnificent structure in itself. To be able to actually see the details ( stage turn tables, computerized drop sequencers, prop/ quick change areas… ‘the pit’, , the ‘green room- like of which you’ve NEVER SEEN! to name a few of the places explored was AMAZING!!! To see My Fair Lady the same evening was indeed ‘magical’. It is EARLY in the AM. The tour completes by 10:30 w breakfast in the green room. This is a working theater, so visitors must make way for ‘the show to go on’. Do try this. You won’t be disappointed.

We had a fabulous Backstage Tour of the Sydney Opera House, and our guide, Marcus, made the experience truly exceptional. He was incredibly knowledgeable and had an amazing understanding of how the entire Opera House works behind the scenes—from the theatres and stages to all the fascinating details that most visitors would never know. Marcus was engaging, enthusiastic, and clearly passionate about the Opera House. He also had a great sense of humor, which made the tour even more enjoyable. He explained everything in such an interesting way and was happy to answer our questions throughout the tour. We came away with a completely new appreciation for this extraordinary building and everything that goes into making its performances possible. At the end of the tour, breakfast was provided, and Marcus joined our small group of seven adults and two children. He was very comfortable engaging with everyone and made the meal feel relaxed and welcoming. His ability to connect with both adults and children was another highlight of the experience. The Backstage Tour was one of the highlights of our visit to Sydney, and Marcus was a huge part of what made it so memorable. If you’re lucky enough to have Marcus as your guide, you’re in for a wonderful experience. Highly recommend!!

The Sydney Opera House backstage tour was such an educational and fascinating experience. I learned so much about the history, architecture, and behind-the-scenes operations of this iconic landmark. My tour guide was excellent—knowledgeable, engaging, and passionate, making the entire experience both informative and enjoyable. It was truly a memorable highlight of our time in Sydney!

This was an amazing once in a lifetime experience. You do literally go backstage and see how the place works from installing scenery to how the orchestras work. To stand on all 3 stages is something you don’t do everyday!! Well worth doing if you’re in Sydney and have even a small amount of interest in music and performing arts. Our host was Nicholas and he was brilliant- lots of facts and stories, a very engaging guide.

The guide (Mr. Markos) was very kind and polite. The explanation of the facilities behind the stage was also detailed and attentive. For my part, though, I have no interest in opera or classical orchestras at all, and I wish they would have explained the facilities and history more firmly.
