Un paseo encantador de dos horas, descubriendo los lugares más queridos de Siena. Comienza frente a la Basílica de San Domenico, donde se conservan las reliquias de Santa Catalina, y continúa hacia su antigua casa. Pasee por las características calles y llegue hasta la Catedral. Decida con su guía si desea entrar en breve para ver el singular suelo de mármol y las obras de arte de Donatello, Bernini y Miguel Ángel. Llegue a la famosa Piazza del Campo, la plaza principal, donde se celebra el Palio (carrera de caballos) dos veces al año. Descubra esta tradición medieval y comprenda por qué es tan importante para los sieneses. El Ayuntamiento es un ejemplo de arquitectura italiana, que alberga el importante museo de la ciudad. Admire también la Fuente de la Alegría y escuche divertidas anécdotas sobre el misterioso río llamado "Diana". El recorrido comienza frente a la Basílica de San Domenico. Desde aquí podrá admirar una encantadora vista de la ciudad. En el interior de la iglesia se conservan las reliquias de Santa Catalina de Siena.
El recorrido continúa hacia el Santuario de la santa, donde vivió con su familia. Descubra la historia de esta mujer mística, casada con el Señor, que no sólo cambió Siena, sino que consiguió transformar nuestro mundo para siempre.
El palacio Tolomei es uno de los edificios más antiguos, está situado en la plaza Tolomei, que fue durante la Edad Media la plaza más importante de la ciudad. En esta plaza verá una columna con una loba. Conozca cómo y por qué Siena está estrechamente ligada a Roma, con su bandera blanca y negra.
Nos detendremos en el Baptisterio, para ver dónde se bautizaba a la gente.
La visita de la ciudad continúa hacia la Catedral, el gran complejo museístico que contiene la Cripta, el Baptisterio y el Museo de la Ópera. Decida con su guía si desea entrar brevemente en el interior de la Catedral para ver el suelo único y las obras de arte de Donatello, Bernini y Miguel Ángel.
El recorrido finaliza en nuestra encantadora ubicación en un palacio histórico, el Palazzo Scotti, donde podrá relajarse y tomar fotografías desde las ventanas exclusivas más hermosas con vistas a la Piazza del Campo.

Benny was a great tour guide in explaining Siena and its history; Catherine, its patron saint; its contrade and Palio di Siena. Even though the Siena Cathedral was not a part of our tour, I had contacted the tour company in advance about getting skip-the-line tickets to the cathedral. Benny accommodated us that day by securing the skip-the-line tickets and taking us on a brief tour inside. It would not have been the same if we had tried to do it on our own - we wouldn't have gained the same knowledge, so we really appreciated her doing so (even though it meant forgoing some of the other items on the tour). The cathedral was worth it - amazingly beautiful inside. In addition, the exclusive window view of Piazza del Campo was also worth it. To actually gain entrance to one of Siena's buildings, go to the top and see the piazza from that viewpoint with a cool, refreshing drink and small snack was a fantastic way to end the tour. Plus, our family of six were the only ones on the tour, which made for a memorable and feeling like VIPs for the day.

We really enjoyed our stay in Siena. Proximity to Campo off from the famous and ancient Via Città was two minutes. The apartment has two large bedrooms, a large living area with nice furniture and a fully equipped kitchen. Just one bathroom, but that was spacious. Friendly owner.
I never thought the view from a window could be so spectacular! I was almost moved! Siena is beautiful and I couldn't ask for more, really. A wonderful experience in one of the most beautiful cities in the world, of truly poignant beauty.

Our visit to Siena was very exciting thanks to Ludovica. She took us from St. Francis’ Basilica to the Cathedral through the various districts of the Palio. We were in Siena for the first time and enjoyed the tour very much. Especially the tour of the cathedral was highly informative and interesting. Especially the detailed description of the history and significance of the neighborhoods with their coats of arms and customs made the tour so special. That the explanations for the traditional horse race were also not missing was then self-evident.
