La inauguración del Museo Arqueológico de Varna y su posterior desarrollo están estrechamente relacionados con los nombres de los dos hermanos Herman y Karel Škorpil, checos de origen, que vinieron a ayudar con la educación y la cultura de su nación eslava hermana después de la Liberación de Bulgaria de El yugo turco. En 1894 se establecieron permanentemente en Varna. El 12 de diciembre de 1901, un grupo de figuras y docentes socialmente activos establecieron la Sociedad Arqueológica de Varna que durante décadas ha sido el poder motivador básico para el interés y el estudio en la historia de Varna, la región de Varna y el noreste de Bulgaria. La inauguración de un museo arqueológico fue una tarea de primera importancia para la Sociedad. El edificio fue construido originalmente para ser una escuela secundaria para niñas entre 1892-1898 después del diseño del famoso arquitecto búlgaro Petko Momchilov. El estilo arquitectónico es de nuevo renacimiento. El edificio consta de un sótano y dos pisos. Casi forma un cuadrado completo e incluye un amplio patio interior. Algunas de las habitaciones y los pasillos están decorados con pinturas murales. Un corredor continuo recorre todo el edificio, que conduce a las salas de exposiciones.

This museum is like everything in Bulgary, the content is interesting but the people are not ready for tourism. We arrived at the museum with children 1 hour before the closure. They didn't want to sold ticket for an hour. We explained that it was ok for us as we were with children. They accepted but asked us to be at the exist 10 minutes before the closure. After 15 minutes, some guardians asked already us to move to the exit. We finally did the full visit in 45 minutes after having be asked 5 times to move to the exit. Nothing ready for french people. No audio guide proposed as mentioned on the website. Ps. Don't visit yhe toilet...
This activity gave us the guides notes and an entry which made me buy it. Great value for money. Recommend to anyone on an individual trip. In my case it was with the business partners.
While in Varna we booked this activity which features an e-guide and entrance to the Archaeological museum. It's wonderful to have all the guides notes and to explore at your own pace. Real bargain with the entry.
This was a total rip off. I spent $11.50 for admission instead of a few lev. They gave me nothing & told me to read the English on the walls. You should be ashamed of yourselves for selling this
