Visite el Taller del Museo de la Zona Cero para una presentación íntima, detallada y emotiva a la "auténtica Zona Cero" y lo que no verá en el cercano Museo Conmemorativo del 11 septiembre. La imaginería no gráfica apta para niños, las 100 historias en audio, las utensilios de la Zona Cero y las fotos curiosas alojadas en este museo sin ánimo de lucro exhiben los heroicos esfuerzos de los bomberos del FDNY en ese fatídico día de 2001 y el "Período de recuperación" de 9 meses. Ganador del premio "25 mejores museos en los EE. UU." de TripAdvisor en 2013 y 2014, este es el único lugar en el que puede tocar y coger objetos de la Zona Cero, un escalofriante recordatorio para los adultos y una oportunidad para que los niños pequeños aprendan sobre un momento significativo de la historia. El Taller del Museo de la Zona Cero en el Distrito de Empacadoras de Carne en West 14th Street presenta imágenes impresionantes, videos raros y restos del Periodo de Recuperación de la Zona Cero, todo en un espacio íntimo y emocional. En la pantalla se muestran 100 de las imágenes más conocidas de Gary Marlon Suson, incluida la página carbonizada de la Biblia Génesis 11: Torre de Babilonia que se encuentra en los escombros del WTC, el Reloj Congelado atascado a las 10:02 am, que marca el colapso de la Torre Sur y varios FDNY Imágenes de la Guardia de Honor. Incredible experience - so many great things to see and learn about.
My wife and I have done a number of 9/11 memorial experiences and the Workshop Museum was the most moving I’ve ever visited. Due to a staff illness, the museum founder and curator, Gary, hosted our experience. Standing in his apartment’s worth of 25 years of his work with an intimate hands-on experience of living history was in red my moving. Our family from ages 9 to 47 learned so much from the interactive experience and really FELT the emotion in the room. I 100% recommend the Workshop Museum to anyone who wants to experience 9/11 on a personal, intimate level.
We booked a guided tour which was good as he told us stories and more information than we would’ve got just walking around. It’s harrowing and upsetting, but it’s part of history and we can’t forget the innocent people. I would recommend this..
We went to the big 9/11 memorial first and the next day found the Ground Zero Workshop - we were so glad we found this place. Our guide was very knowledgeable about ground zero and provided very "real" stories and information, as well as being able to see all the artifacts and photographs . It was a very touching experience. Definitely add this to your list of places to go!
It was a very moving experience. Different view of the 9/11 tragedy than you get from the memorial itself. We could actually touch and handle many artifacts from the recovery site
I had been wanting to visit the Ground Zero Museum Workshop for a long time, and it was just as moving as I imagined it would be. It’s a small, intimate space that tells the story of the Ground Zero recovery in such a real and respectful way. Hearing the personal stories and being able to see and touch artifacts was something I can’t fully put into words. You walk away with a deeper understanding of not just the tragedy, but the strength, resilience, and dedication of those involved in the recovery efforts. The museum is beautifully done and truly heart-wrenching. I’m so glad I finally had the chance to visit. It’s an experience that will stay with me for a long time. This is not to be confused with the National September 11 Memorial & Museum. This experience is much more personal and focused on the people behind the recovery. We have been looking forward to this since we started planning our NY trip. This was an amazing experience with the official photographer for Ground Zero. You don't want to miss this. It was one of the best parts of our trip.

This is an exceptional museum that evokes deep emotion as you literally feel the weight that was put upon those who spent months searching for the missing. The photography is stunning and clearly tells the important story of biting loss, reverence, grace, resilience and love. The audio narration provides wonderful context to the photographs and insight into the moment. It is expertly written and delivered. The artifacts are personal and touching and elevate the experience. Many can be held but we couldn’t bring ourselves to do so because that was another whole level of emotion to manage. This museum is a must see.
